In March about 31 Congressmen and women submitted a joint resolution that would make parental rights part of the Constitution. There are three Articles:
1 The liberty of a parent to direct the upbringing and education of their child is a fundamental right.
2 Neither the United State, nor any State can deny that liberty without clearly demonstrating that it is in the highest interest for that individual, not for some other reason.
3 No international treaty can change that right and deny the liberty stated in the Constitution....(that means no international laws against spanking a child or to deny home schooling can be cited as above the right of a parent.)
I think this is needed because the Federal Government has been paying states to remove children from their parents through state child protective services and put them up for adoption. This process funds an entire child abuse industry where the rights of parents are totally trashed so states can cash in. It started in the seventies and was called the Mondale Act.
Anyone who has ever dealt with the CPS know that it considers the Bill of Rights doesn't apply to them and routinely disregards those rights to get the cash and bonuses for their prospective states.
I thing this bill should have a change to see the light of day.( H J Res 42)
