So, there you are on vacation, enjoying the beautiful scenery, when you decide to take a photo. You want to be in the shot yourself, so you set the timer. You then hurry into position, hug your significant other, plaster a smile on your face, and wait. But just as the shutter snaps, a curious squirrel shows up and stands right in front of the lens. "Hi," it seems to be saying. "Would you rather have a picture of me, instead?"
There's a video about the photo as well at that link: :)) http://buzz.yahoo.com/buzzlog/92911?fp=1
The curious squirrel is an Internet star -- thanks to a Minnesota couple's photograph.
Melissa and Jackson Brandts of Watertown were on vacation in Alberta, Canada, last May when the squirrel popped up in their camera shot.
The Brandts, both 29, were sitting in the background on the shore of Lake Minnewanka with the camera set on a rock. Up close is the squirrel -- attracted, the couple thinks, by the sound of the camera focusing.
The couple submitted the photo for National Geographic's "Your Shot" contest.
Jackson Brandts said the couple has received e-mails and phone calls from Canada, Australia, Italy and South Korea. Melissa Brandts said Friday the attention the photo has received is "just crazy."

That's as funny as the squirrel that was outside our basement window last fall. A lot of pollen had blown onto the screen and that crazy squirrel was right outside our window (didn't seem to care we were watching him) taking his time licking the pollen off the screen. My husband just laughed and laughed as we watched him. I wish we had a picture of that. These people are lucky to get such a funny photo as this! :))
