Very big loss to music. He and Mary Ford were huge influences on many musicians.

I have owned a few Les Pauls (Gibsons) and they are my favotite guitars.

Great musician. Great innovator. Sad loss. My Les Paul Standard is a prized possession, so it is very disheartening to hear that the namesake and immense talent is gone to Heaven.

Never learned to play a guitar but I sure loved his contributions and his legacy!

Always love hearing his interviews, they played some snippets earlier on the radio here where he was speaking about his very first guitar, and how a string got stuck on carton staple from the box it came in and it plucked one single note by accident, and he then spoke how his mother in the next room hollered in complimenting him on his obvious talent... :)

R.I.P Les

I loved the Coors commercial where the band is setting up in a bar and Les approaches the guitar play who is plunking around and says, "Can I see your guitar." He lets him have the guitar and Les rips some nice riffs. Finally, the guy says, "What's your name?"

Les says, "Its on your guitar." The look on the guys face is great.

The most expensive Baldwin piano has been the Les Paul edition, naturally designed to look like a classic guitar. Of course, that was because Gibson bought Baldwin in 2001.

Before Les died a 1959 Gibson Les Paul In good condition was selling for $250,000 to $500,000(Google).

I wonder if the values of certain Les Pauls will go even higher.

Heres a clip of Steve Lukather playing a '59 and he mentions how much its worth in the clip. (Around 30 seconds into the clip)

My first electric guitar was a 1983 Les Paul Custom.

It was a great guitar & it's namesake was a great musician.

RIP Les.

Heaven's band just got a whole lot more melodic.

Rest in peace.

I had the pleasure of seeing Les Paul perform a number of times at his monday night residency at Iriduim. There are few men in the world that were on his level.

I got a chance to see him perform at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame when the hall opened up his permanant exhibit and got to see him again a year later at the House of Blues. He was still at the top of his game, looked and sounded like he was in no hurry to retire. I even got a CD signed by him after his rockhall show and I just thanked him for everything for what he's done for rock and roll. He influenced so many musicians, too many to count. And his inventions of how music should be dubbed and overdubbed is simply amazing. My absolute favorite song of his is "How High the Moon."

He is a very deserving inductee to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

You've earned your rest, Les. May God be with you. You will be missed.
