Speaking of Mounds.
KSDK -- The last remaining Native American mound in St. Louis has a new owner.
The Osage Nation purchased the Sugar Loaf Mound from a private owner.
A small ceremony and prayer marked the sale this morning.
The Osage tribe believes it can link it's heritage to the mound and those in Cahokia as well.

Now that is what I can get behind, what I said in another thread, buy the land and preserve it if it is that important to you.

I think you should have bought it Lou... You probably have as much connection to it as the Osage Nation. ;)

This is actually interesting. I saw on the news a few months ago that the property was for sale but there were no buyers. I suppose that the publicity ultimately resulted in this.
It felt sort of sad and pathetic at the time that no one wanted to take it on, but then again, even if you 'wanted' it you'd have to come up with the cash. Guess that some group did.
Good for them.

Yes good for them, I applaud them for literally putting their money where their mouth is!
Unlike that Alabama bunch that wanted "others" to pony up the money.
