COLLINSVILLE, IL ( KTVI-FOX2now.com ) - Illinois preservationists say construction workers have unearthed an ancient Mississippian Native American burial ground and they have no intention of disturbing the dead.
Cobb reports the remains of at least 10 Mississippian Indians and those of an infant have been found in Collinsville.
The discovery was made by construction workers building a combination home and office for a family counselor.
The owner is Vickie Hendricks who now runs a counseling office in Maryville.
Her plan is to make an office out of the first level with living quarters on the second floor.
Having an ancient burial plot up against the north wall of her building will pose some restrictions.
Well this is interesting.
If I were Vickie I would be thinking a lot about the movie Poltergeist....
