View Full Version : Stop the prostitution of our children!

Has anyone heard about Mylie Cyrus? Why is fox news and her father Billy Ray promoting the prostitution not only of our children; but, even their own?
Money and ratings takes precedent over decency.
Isn't it time we speak out and file a lawsuit for child pornagraphic voyeurism?
I for one will not watch fox again, until they stop this child porn and stop having their newswomen from showing flesh.
Enough is enough!

Did you see the tape of that late night show? I think it's Red Eye or sumpin like that.
They had a FOX anchor woman on there with a dress cut well below her chest. She was hot but more than I bargained for on a news show. That dress was cleavage happy,I thought I was watchin HBO

Comeon yall
You need to provide a reasonable synopsis if you post video links. Further... you need to have personal commentary on the points of the video you wish to discuss.
These are discussion boards. Members who cannot access multimedia, are on slow dial-up connections, on bandwidth limited accounts, etc. cannot discuss an unseen video. Failure to provide a reasonable synopsis is grounds for removal of the link and / or post.
Further, what we are seeing a lot of is links to videos that have already been posted (or another version of them) and without a synopsis members have no way of knowing they are simply wasting their time and bandwidth. LEE

Obviously, it is above your grade scale. I did not insinuate Mylie as being the problem. Children under 18 are being exploited for pedophilia purposes, and it is palpable that my thread is eliciting them.

Oh come on - Miley is just the latest in a long line of teen girls that have "come of age" in the media. This goes back to Brooke Shields if not before.
It's the same pattern time and time again and it usually ends with their career flopping and them being arrested for robbing a liquor store.

Earlier in the night, "Sean Kingston" had a routine where at least 7-8 other scantily-clad girls performing on two stripper poles that were on the stage for another routine. Sadly, what concerns me worse is that this, along with other recent moves, is making mainstream and legitimate the use of stripper poles, as pop artists use them.

If anyone believes what Miley did on stage was a stripper dance needs to visit their local topless joint and watch a real stripper in action. Then compare.

You do have a point.
I remember a day not too many years ago when thong underwear was never seen outside of dance studios and porn films. Now you can see them on the rack in the girls section at Target.

How about her 9 year old sister, at the pre party, posing with other girls and Miley on a stripper pole again. Mind you, I don't think they are dressed inappropriately, I am concerned with why a stripper pole? Who does this play too? BTW: Her parents have to sign releases for these photos to be published.

If you cannot perceive what is being promoted by the symbols, and who is parading the symbols, and to whom are the promotion of these symbols being targetted to, than there is nothing I could possibly say to enlighten you.

OK, let's see if we can't illuminate.
1) Do symbols have meaning?
2) If they do are they used to convey or promote a message?
3) If they convey or promote a message does that mean that it has an intended target?
I say people who proclaim that symbols are meaningless are the epitome of naivete. That people who think that what Miley was doing by "parading" certain symbols was meaningless is inane.
There was definitely a message being promoted and an intentional target; children as sex objects. If you can come up with a better expanation, go for it. I'd love to read it.

They're not stripper poles anymore. They're exercise poles. I just saw the commercial on TV last night for the workout videos.
Seriously though, Marquus, I can see your concern and I'm glad to know that modesty is still appreciated. If it was my daughter, I wouldn't want her performing on a stripper pole, I don't care what kind of truck is behind it.
I also can appreciate your concern that adults in the industry put children out there like that. I wish they wouldn't.
I don't think that there's an underlying message of pedophilia though. I don't think that's the intent at all. I think it's like you said, money takes precedence over propriety and while her routine may have been 'racey' it was not nudity. She had more on than some girls wear to the beach!
That said, it's your right to turn it off if you are offended and I wish that young ladies would remember that they are ladies and understand that they deserve a better kind of attention, but that's just my wish and I am in no way interested in using the force of law to make my particular standards required by everyone. I can impress upon my children the beauty to be found in modesty and teach them to respect themselves, but I can't control others, nor do I wish to.
If you want to boycott Fox, you are free to do so, but I don't think that you'll accomplish much. T&A sells. It just does. There's no way around it. If society didn't buy it, they wouldn't sell it.

Thanks for your thoughtful response. The reason I strongly believe it was to arouse prurient interest is the fact that it was as you say "racey" and had it been portrayed simply as an exercise pole we would have seen a different presentation.
As to a lawsuit; pedophilia is illegal, and as long as people think they can get away with something they will try.
Billy Ray I thought claims to be a Christian, at least I know Sean Hannity does, and Sean claims to care about children and how they're without guidance. So where is the outcry? How many more Brittany Spears', Michael Jackson's, or other children is it going to take to get people to say enough?
If people would stand up, especially those who claim to have Judeo/Christian values, then we could stop and reverse this trend towards unbridled hedonism.
Finally, we feel as if we shouldn't impose our values on others, while they enjoy imposing theirs on us. As Mark Levin says, "It's time to push back the hordes!"

Contradiction?
Actually in the commercial it was apparent that the pole was there for her to hold on to while they moved the ice cream cart. It was neither a stripper pole nor an exercise pole. I suppose they could have made it look like an umbrella for those who see things that aren't there, but there was certainly nothing particularly provocative about her use of the pole to maintain balance on her mobile perch.

As noted... it was not a stripper pole... it was a balance pole. No stripping took place; no provocative "pole dancing" took place; any similarity with the pole and a stripper pole was in the mind of the beholders.

I suppose they could have made it look like an umbrella <snip snotty comment> but there was certainly nothing particularly provocative about her use of the pole to maintain balance on her mobile perch.
At least if it had been an umbrella, then there would have been plausible deniability that it was anything else. That might have even made sense. Ive seen ice cream carts with umbrellas, but never with just poles. I can't think of anywhere where I've seen just a pole, unless there's a stop sign missing from it or a fireman sliding down it.
I'm not saying she was raunchy or that she did a striptease, but to say that the pole was there to balance her while she was on the ice cream cart seems to be rationalizing. She got on the cart to hold the pole and dance. It could have been left off.
It doesn't matter, at any rate, but I think that if we want to talk about the moral fabric of our country then teaching our young ladies how to behave like ladies and our young men to be gentlemen and then expecting them to would be a pretty good place to start.

The exercise pole comment was just a little joke. I remembered seeing a new weight loss program the other night that made use of the pole.
I don't think that this is pedophilia. She's legal in some states isn't she?
I don't feel that anything has been imposed on me. I wouldn't have even seen the video if you hadn't come here and posted about it. I made the choice to go find the video so that I could see for myself, just like people decided to tune into the teen choice awards and to not change the channel.
