America, remember these words---"We the People".

And those of Mrs. Nancy Pelosi and Steny Hoyer from an op-ed in USA Today calling those protesting the current healtcare reform bill being considered in Congress-- "un-American".

Going even further, likening valid American protestors to Nazi“s is well beyond anything that "We the people" should be willing to tolerate any elected official of any party to compare an American to.

One American calling another American a host of slanderous and degrading names based on however many differences we can list for days is something of a phenonema that current media access permits. In truth, we have been at that for qutie some time in America.

But at this juncture and on this issue, a very serious and dangerous line has been crossed and more importantly, Washington“s view by the elected officials towards the electorate, "We the people" has now been laid nakedly bare and openly exposed for all to see.

There has been a terrible loss of reality by those in Washington as to just who this Country belongs to and their place in the whole scheme of things.

For the most part and for most Americans within a very short period of sparring on most issues, we have our say, yell and scream (sometimes not so politely) and for the vast majority of us, it all goes away and becomes just another day on the internet or in the editorials or op-eds.

On the issues, we usually are willing to wait for election cycles for us to take an action, and we have even learned how to deal with a lot of things we are not for to become the law of the land and we respect it and honor it and for some, we promise ourselves to work harder next time to win on those points we feel strongly about or even to elect the leaders we think will do better than incumbents or who will represent us and our interests better.

But, when any member of the Government of any nation and especially The United States of America has the blatant disrespect for their citizens/voters or the Americans who vote and have to pay for their salaries and living expenses, travel, and plans and policies, feels the arrogance and right to label them as un-American for voicing opposition to any plan or policy of government or planned by government to be implemented, that is when it is time for that member of Government and all those who side with that label being applied to a citizen and especially an American citizen, to be removed from office by the people. And I submit that the removal of that or those elected officials should be immediate as they have violated the trust they were elected to honor because once the campaign is over and the elections decided they cease to be representatives of their own agenda or even their Parties agenda, yes you got that right. They become elected officials with the duty to represent "We the people" and that includes even those who did not vote for them.

Their office requires them to seek policies and programs for the welfare of all and in the interests of the Nation.

To be specific, Nancy Pelosi and her ilk within the Democratic Party have crossed a line that I hope will long be remembered and for which they deserve nothing less than removal from office.

By labeling Americans as un-American or likening them to Nazis for voicing their opposition to the proposed healtcare reform that by admission some members of Congress have not taken the time to read completely and that in many views will have significant negative effects to the economy and to the citizenry, especially the elderly, Mrs. Pelosi has lost all legitimacy to her office.

This Nation was founded on the loud and vigorous voices of people who had serious and legitimate debate on how they were being governed and the manner by which their labor and lives were not being considered by the monarch who was governing.

It is our right and duty at times to voice loud and vigorous opposition to leadership and policies that impact the lives of every citizen living in free societies and most especially the citizens of The United States of America. Not to do so and permit those who govern to ride roughshode over the citizenry is the real act of un-Americanism.

To denegrate that action is the height of arrogance and the proof positive of how removed from the realities of who is served by whom and whose interests and concerns are to be considered by whom these politicians in Washington have strayed and I will include people from both parties on this.

It is "We the people" they are there to serve and somehow, "We the people" have allowed this to swing to a point where it is "They the people" that "We the people" are supposed to serve!!!

That has got to change and immediately my fellow citizens, no matter what our differences may be politically or fiscally or on any other points in our society, "We the people" must get back to the basic of who serves whom and who is elected by whom!!!

There is no greater proof of the dangers America and Americans face by this current group of leaders than this statement by Mrs. Pelosi and every American needs to take it to heart, no matter what Party they belong to.

Even more of concern is a president who will virtually tell Americans who question one of his policies or who will not let programs be rammed through and down their throats to shut up and basically go away.

These statements and the roots that they expose of those who had the audacity and the repugnant arrogance to utter them should be part of the collective memory of Americans as they are asked to make leadership choices in 2010 and 2012.

Mrs. Pelosi and her collaborators along wth Mr. Obama will count on Americans to forget that they were labeled as un-American, they will count on the media to write the justifying columns for these words, they will count on a lot of things as we approach those election dates.

What they are not counting on is that we will remember them and that we will and should remind everyone that they were uttered.

We Americans are a funny bunch and can put up with and overlook a lot of things that we do and call one another but I do not think most Americans can stand to hear another American labeled this way by anyone in an elected position in the America we live in today.

Not after McCarthy, not after Vietnam, not after Detroit and Los Angeles and Memphis and not after all that we have managed to build and create in these last generations as Americans with all the differences we have debated and have permitted to divide us.

But for the most of us, we learned way back towards the end of the 60“s that America is the collection of "We the people" with all of our yelling and screaming and fighting and that "We the people" have the right and the obligation to make our voices heard, most especially to our elected officials and that "We the people" do not do well with monarchial rule over us, whether it be a true monarch who forgot about "we the people" and most certainly for any present day pretender to the monarchy who not only has fogotten about "We the people" but shows disdain for "We the people".

We should continue to voice our opposition to anything we oppose in this country as an individual and by God if there are enough of us who agree to that opposite view then we have the absolute right to expect by the vote of "We the people" that it is not adopted or rammed down our collective throats and to make certain that those who are given the honor of representing us "We the people" get the message of our opposition and what and how we expect them to approve or not the policies that "We the people" will have to pay for and live with the consequences into the future of "Our Country".

Got that Nancy and Steny and the rest of you that walk those same halls as these two pathetic excuses of leadership walk and enjoy what "We the people" pay for.

"We the people" pay for you to be housed, fed and transported to and fro across this globe. America belongs to "We the people".

It is time for you to go, long past time.

And, as for the protests on this healthcare issue, maybe you should get the message that "We the people" are delivering.
