Here it comes, a showdown for the decade. Frank Kimbrough Stadium will play host for this clash of Div. 2 powerhouses which has been so long in the making. This will be Game 1 of the 2009 season for both teams.
The hope always was, they would meet in the playoffs. Year after year one or the other would get bumped off, making that meeting impossible. GVS won two national championships in the mean time and is considered the team to beat in Div 2 practically every year.
For WT, graduation hit hard. They're fielding their youngest and most inexperienced team in years. Gone is QB Keith Null, to the NFL's Rams.... WR Charley Martin, to the Chargers. Many other players were lost as well, but the Buffaloes don't rebuild, they reload.
NFL people better keep an eye on Null..... he's the prototype NFL QB in physical stature and build, and re-wrote the Div 2 passing record book while at WT. He's in a legitimate battle with Brock Berlin for the #3 QB spot on a team that's known to carry three on the roster. If he's cut, some team better pick him up and at least put him on their practice squad. He also, looks like the 70s quarterbacks of old:

Anyhow, he's gone and the Buffaloes have to face GVS without his services. It's going to be a great event and I will be there, among probably 15,000 fans in the little Buffalo bowl. And yes, I will be posting pictures!
