this whole thing is ridiculous! somebody saw a man breaking into a house and called 911, just like any sensible person would do. Gates was not arrested because of racism, it was because the officers asked for some ID and instead of showing some ID he freaked out.
I watched the tape, listened to recordings and must say: Henry Louis Gates is lucky he only got arrested, where I live the cops would've shot him.
furthermore, I am utterly appalled that Obama said the police "acted stupidly" (their job is hard enough already) and started talking about racial bias in law enforcement. he publicly stated that he would not play the race card. our president has directly lied to us!
