FBI "assets" are likely to be dirty. What the heck is the FBI supposed to use for information, Girl Scout Cookie sales data?
Info about bad guys is going to come from bad guys.
This is practically a guilty plea. The FBI doesn't want information from just anybody, they want info from people who are up to their necks in criminal enterprises.
I wouldn't be bragging about the FBI liking me as an informant hoping to prove my innocence. That sort of reputation could easily backfire as the question is asked why the FBI would believe the accused holds a wealth of information about bad guys.
