It was not until I was about 38 years of age that I discovered a higher reality than what I had known all my life. I was quite ignorant of what in the East has been known for thousands of years, and remains quite unknown in the West, and in America in particular.
What is this higher reality? It revolves around two concepts: The first concept relates to the "Purpose of Life", and the second is the dual realities of the Law of Karma and reincarnation. To comprehend the Purpose of Life [as opposed to the "illusion of life"] one has to accept something Christianity has doggedly resisted as long as I am aware. That is the idea that Man has only one life to live.
When one discovers the Purpose of Life, this silly notion of one life to live seems almost too ridiculous to have ever been concocted in the first place. The basic point to the Purpose of Life is this: Ones Soul has committed to Life, proof of this is the fact that one is here on this physical plane of existence. And the Purpose of Life is to do Karma.. and this is true whether one knows about this reality or not?
The Law of Karma is this: As you sow [do an action], so this action will be done to you. Rather simple concept that assures that Life is absolutely fair, impartial and just. What makes the concept of Karma work is reincarnation, or the continuous cycle of birth and death. Think of Life as consisting of a huge step ladder. I refer to this as the Ladder of Life, and we Souls are perched upon the rungs of this ladder according to the Spiritual Evolution ones Soul has accumulated. The way in which ones Soul accumulates Spiritual Evolution is by "completing" Karma, and this is a long process and it requires many, many lifetimes to achieve.

When one considers the concept of reincarnation, one discovers a most surprising fact. That fact is that the whole point to our incarnating is to discover, learn and grow by doing Karma. And a part of ones incarnating is to help one discover what one does not know, and in particular, to "experience" what one has not previously experienced. So guess the incarnating race of someone who was a member of the Klu Klux Klan in his or her last life ? If you guessed as a person of color, you are correct. And guess what the race of a person of color will most likely be in his or her next life? And this changing back and forth between various races, cultures and nations will continue until that Soul discovers that the physical form of a Soul makes no difference to the Soul of that person. The only importance is what Karma that Soul experiences in life... because it is how that Soul "reacts" to the Karma it faces that determines whether or not that Karma is completed, or simply resisted and another Karmic due bill is created.
There is no rush, no hurry, each Soul has as many lifetimes as it requires to begin to realize the difference between Reality and the illusion of life. Ultimately a Soul rises above the ignrorance of the illusion and begins to awaken to the more important aspects of Life. And this only occurs after many, many lifetimes of ignorance, pride, hatred, and ego. So, it is an ignorance of Reality that causes one to engage in racial thougnts, or to look at the outside of a person and miss the fact that person's Soul is precisely like ones own. Ignorance is of the MIND, and those who are caught in ignorance are stuck in their MINDs, having either forgotten their Spirituality, or not as yet awakened to it.
