If you're moved by somebody quitting their job, you might want to re-examine what moves you. You're not thinking logically.

I for one think her leaving the office 2 1/2 years into her term is quite possibly the biggest mistake any politician with hopes of a political future has ever made.

You want to be moved by a republican, be moved by how Arnold is dealing with the biggest mess in California's history, and actually working to fix it. He's doing all he can. He's not running away from that mess. Sarah, I'm sad to say, is running away from a far easier battle. I really don't see how you can look at it any other way.

Quitters don't inspire me. Sorry. And she quit. Period.

so you would let somebody make numerouse false accusations about you and your family and force you into bankruptcy and fight them all the way. Instead of thinking about your families welfare first and not your political career.
I don't know you personally but I doubt you would do that.

If somebody was making false accusations about me, I'd sue them. And they would pay my way out of bankruptcy.

That being said, my position is based on the idea that she has hopes of a political future. I don't see any political future for somebody that quits 2 1/2 years into a 4 year term.

She'd only be a lame duck if she allowed her self to be. If she was truly about doing what's right for her state, she should have maintained her position and done what was right for her state. She would be in an even better position politically not having to worry about re-election. She wouldn't have to spend time fundraising. She could put forth her political agenda without fear of upsetting anyone and dedicate all of her time to that agenda.

She elected to cut and run if you ask me. And I'm sorry, but that just doesn't move me.

I doubt you can sue somebody for asking for an investigation. But even if you could I would't want to loose my house my fishing boat and everything else I got in the hopes for money later all the while racking up more lawyer fees.

That being said, my position is based on the idea that she has hopes of a political future. I don't see any political future for somebody that quits 2 1/2 years into a 4 year term.

I am undecided on that. she does have to come out and explain herself better to have the future however.

That's the problem Goose... as Governor she was not able to sue to stop false accusations through the Ethics Violation process. As a private citizen she can sue and has clearly stated (or rather her lawyer said) that she will sue. Yes she quite, but in doing so she not only freed herself of the costly annoyance of false ethics complaints she empowered herself to deal with the *******s who are making them face to face. She also freed the State Government of the time and expense of dealing with them. Parnell will be allowed to govern full time rather than deal with such nonsense.

Hopefully, first order of business by the Legislature will be to extend the same level of protection that they gave themselves regarding ethics violation accusations to the Executive branch.

I thought you guys were tired of conventional politicians, and now presented with one, you want to abandon her for being unconventional. That makes no sense. By quiting the office of Governor she has not abandoned her passion for Alaska. Parnell announced clearly that he will continue her agenda and with the distractions of political pettiness gone, she will actually be in position to help out and wield influence more than she could as Governor. This is an unprecedented move for sure... completely politically unconventional... but Sarah Palin has always been an unconventional politician... she got to where she is by being unconventional and will succeed in the future for the same reason. You folks in the lower 48 may not under stand that, but we here in Alaska do.

Ummmmm.... yeah she turned her back on the people who got her into office. Even though I live in Michigan and have a less than stellar governor, at least she didn't QUIT her job when the going got tough! If Granholm (or the next governor if I voted for them or not) quit with 2 1/2 years left, I woiuld be ****ed.
Either way noone will forget this happened in the lower 48, and if quitting is what Alaskians do, then there is somewhere I could never live and be happy with my neighbors (as much as I want to).

I agree. If it was the state paying to defend her that's one thing but when that money comes out of your own pocket and takes from your family that's anoteher

I live way down yonder in New Orleans and I fully understand why she quit and support her all the way. As you point out, she can now go after the rotten lowlifes filing all these bogus complaints and driving her into financial ruin and hurting the state she loves whereas as governor she just had to hold her fire and take it unmercifully.

She can also build up a huge war chest to run for president upon in 2012. And if she can get a job at FoxNews that would be icing on the cake.

The only ones deriding what she's done are the loons of the far left who fear her

John, you understand perfectly. I don't know about a job at FOX, but we have not heard to last from Sarah Palin and when we do everyone else will understand as well. Whether or not they admit it will remain to be seen.
