Dr. Ezekiel Emanuel, the brother of White House Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel. He has already been appointed to two key positions: health-policy adviser at the Office of Management and Budget and a member of Federal Council on Comparative Effectiveness Research.
snip

Savings, he writes, will require changing how doctors think about their patients: Doctors take the Hippocratic Oath too seriously, "as an imperative to do everything for the patient regardless of the cost or effects on others" (Journal of the American Medical Association, June 18, 2008).
snip

He says medical care should be reserved for the non-disabled,

So if according to Emanuel, the NONdisabled should not get medical care, what is to happen to adults and children with cerebral palsy, people with dementia, or Americans who have Parkinson's?

Another reason liberals are moving to Hitler's thinking. Let's just round up these individuals and eliminate them to save money for the rest of us! What a compassionate president we have. All hail the Messiah!

So, since I'm disabled, according to what these libs want me to do is just kill myself then? I don't think so, I think I'd rather stick around and enjoy watching the next 3 1/2 years as they slowly come to realize that their majority rule is over.

This is also a very KEY STATEMENT:

"Yes, that's what patients want their doctors to do. But Emanuel wants doctors to look beyond the needs of their patients and consider social justice, such as whether the money could be better spent on somebody else."

Who in the hell do these people think they are to determine who is better than someone else. And they call it SOCIAL JUSTICE??

I want my doctor to believe in the hippocratic oath and I want him to look at me, not over my shoulder at the person next in line to decide who gets treated.

I don't believe many doctors would practice if it comes down to this.

Here's the real dirty secret of this bill. And people said it wasn't about rationing care. BS. This makes me so dang mad I can't see straight.

My daughter with disabilities will receive medical care one way or another.

Here's another great sentence as well:

The bills being rushed through Congress will be paid for largely by a $500 billion-plus cut in Medicare over 10 years. Knowing how unpopular the cuts will be, the president's budget director, Peter Orszag, urged Congress this week to delegate its own authority over Medicare to a new, presidentially-appointed bureaucracy that wouldn't be accountable to the public.

Unbelievable - first the census and now health care - our health care that doesn't cover them. No, the president and members of congress are allowed to receive treatment when they are over age 65 because they are exempt.

This information needs to be publicized more. What about all the soldiers who were disabled through service to their country? We should be doing everything we can to help them - not denying them healthcare. After all, they have sacrificed for our nation - it is only right that we return the favor to them.

The way I see it, the ethical cornerstone of being a physician is swearing an oath to uphold the Hippocratic Oath.

I have a question for my liberal friends on this forum. How is it liberal, compassionate, or progressive to ration health care to anyone?

.......... I hear liberals stump about "helping those who can't help themselves," but then I see crap like rationing health care come out of the mouths of some liberals & I think to myself, "What in the hell is humane about that?!"

EDIT: These so-called social scientists who advocate varying degrees of eugenics are some of the most frightening and twisted people I have ever heard of in my life. Just a couple of years ago, people such as Rahm Emmanuel's brother would have been dismissed as a crackpot with some ideas that sound dangerously Orwellian.

Translation:
We will start killing people over age 65 (mainly those too old to vote) to save money. But the procedure will be so politically damaging that we are creating a new bureaucracy so we can deflect criticism.

They made fun of "Compassionate Conservatives."

Now we know what a "Compassionate Liberal" thinks.

Obamatics;

(an excerpt from the article)

In a Nov. 16, 2008, Health Care Watch column, Emanuel explained how business should be done: "Every favor to a constituency should be linked to support for the health-care reform agenda. If the automakers want a bailout, then they and their suppliers have to agree to support and lobby for the administration's health-reform effort."

That's right, what about our soldiers who put their lives on the line for us.

We can get the information out by writing a letter to the editor, and/or calling a talk show.

This is pure evil. Yet, this monster is a major advisor to the President. If Obama looks to someone like this for advice on medical care, then I can only assume that Obama shares the same kind of evil philosophy regarding human life.

Perhaps, this should come as no suprise, looking back to the campaign when it was disclosed that Obama would not vote to save the lives of babies who survived botched abortions. Obama is more than COOL. He has to be one cold fish.

Hardly. This evil man is Obama's major advisor on healthcare, and that's more of a tragedy.

Remember, Margaret Sanger, the founder of Planned Parenthood was a proponent of eugenics as a way to perfect the human race. So were members of the American Bund. Hmmmmmmmmmmm....

Must be busy scouring the liberal blogosphere to see if anyone has dug up something ...anything against the author of the article. Standard fare ...can't defend the message? ...shoot the whistle blower. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Betsy_McCaughey

I was skeptical of the whole thing because it just is so horrific, but a quick review of the author and I must say it looks as if Dr. Emmanuel is just another adherent for the views of Sanger, Rhodes, Hitler and Singer. Especially troublesome coming from someone raised as a Jew.

Freaking modern day Eugeniscists ...I thought we dealt w/ that issue last century.

ETA: (Nothing would please me more than to find out that this man was misquoted ...I can't fathom anyone holding the views espoused in the article in the OP)

We are being forewarned. Let's fight like heck to stop Obamacare. Talk to everyone you know and send info to your email list, and tell your friends to call their reps..
