I still love ya'll and check in periodically... Hope everyone is doing well!

Here's my public service announcement... Please, if you are looking for a pet, consider adopting a pet from your local shelter or animal rescue organization. There are so many deserving fur-babies out there looking for a forever home.

I just adopted an adult min-pin/chihuahua mutt as a companion dog for my daughter and my german shepherd dog. She's an absolute darling, a perfect fit for our family. She was 2-3 days from being euthanized and now she has a forever family, and let me tell you, she's just a joyous addition to our family.

Please. If you are looking for a pet, consider a shelter dog or cat. They will have a variety of ages, breeds, sizes, shapes, colors and temperaments. Then, when you decide, please have your fur baby spayed or neutered to avoid more unwanted fur babies out there needing homes.

Love ya'll!

Hello, and I agree.

We have two dogs - a mutt from the Humane Society and a purebred pug. The mutt is so much more even-tempered and friendly, and has been so much easier on the wallet when it comes to health problems.

AGREE!!!

We lost a much beloved dog the beginning of May. Her litter mate was lost without her and needed a companion. It did take a good bit of searching different shelters, which surprised me, but we finally found THE PERFECT pup!

We took her out of a bad situation [she had been found as a stray and then was in rescue for 3 months before we got her] and were able to give her a good home. In turn, she's given our other dog a new lease on life and has filled a huge void in our lives. She's taking a bit of work but it's worth it and we're crazy about the gal!

Let me tell you, you've not lived until you've been roused from a deep sleep by the baying of a coon hound! :)

We got a new pup about 3 months ago.

He was on the side of road and in bad, bad shape. He barely made it through his third night in our house. He's in great health now, with the exception of a slight touch of the mange lingering-but clearing, and he's one for the coolest and most fun dogs I've ever had.

Well, I would but my wife would shoot me. You see, all of our pets have been rescued in one fashion or another. From ignorant 20 somethings that thought a Lab puppy would make a great pet for apartment living to the latest stray/abandoned pup I rescued from the side of the road and brought home about 6-9 months ago. At least the youngest son "resuced" me from his mother and took that one with him. :)
