I think Trooper Martin issuing an apology to Mr. White would be fitting. I don't know about the anger management class nonsense, but ordering him to take a refresher course in the Constitution would be wonderful.

I hope this is a learning experience for him.

A couple parts of that video were just down right funny. like when the lady in the white shirt gets in the back of the ambulance, then someone goes to close the back door and you just know he asks "what are you doing in there?"

I wonder if anyone pointed out to the driver of the ambulance that the next time he is transporting a patient to a care facility in defiance of traffic laws he should have on his lights and siren...

It is not a Constitutional issue.
The Constitution does not and can not ban stupidity.
I worry about a police force (OSP) that would keep a person with that lack of discretion on the force and allowed to carry a gun.

It took them 2 months to make a decision? That tape was longer than the original one i saw and showed more. It makes even less sense to me after seeing that - WHY they were pulled over in the first place. I think they went extremely light on him if you ask me!

5 Days suspension - I suppose but he should get a desk job for at least a year until he calms down. We don't need hot heads like this guy patrolling our state highways.

Our state troopers are by-in-large a very honorable group of men and women doing a great job, it's just a shame they get a black eye from an idiot like this.

There was a time when in many states merely being polite to a trooper gave you shot at getting off.
When I lived in Colorado the troopers were polite and no matter how nice you were the ticket was always written.
The CP was often referred to as the Courtesy Patrol. (no similarity to the Denver police)
If the officer in the ambulance case had a long good record a one could give him the benefit of the doubt forgive a one time moment of anger and year of desk duty followed by a re-evalution of his suitability.
In the case of a man with 2 years on the job the force should be glad they found out what a moron this guy was and they would be crazy to keep him on the force.

The video I saw, showed the trooper grabbing the arm of the driver to place him under arrest, the driver resisted, swung his arm back and pushed forward with this forearm into the trooper, causing another trooper to push back the paramedic driver, then the shoving match ensued.

Maybe we need people not to resist arrest? This suspension is bogus.

I saw the original one too and it was NOT all that. When someone goes for your throat, out of reflex you are going to remove the persons grip. He told him he was going to arrest him before it even got to that point. I'd like to know what grounds as everyone EXCEPT for the cop remained calm in the situation trying to explain they had a woman to take to the hospital.Let's notb forget the cops actions that led up to that point, and lets not try to find things and blow them out of proportion to make the cop look good.

He pulled them over b/c he didn't like the reaction the driver of the ambulance driver when the cop pulled up on the ambulance earlier. You can't pull somebody over for giving you a hand gesture anyway, its protected speech, assuming its the finger.

oh bull. they never should have stopped for the cop, and they damn sure shouldn't have let him manhandle or arrest them.

imo the trooper is lucky he still has a job.

The state of Oklahoma isn't.

And EMS should allow their patient to die because a cop does not understand the concept of an ambulance.

What I don't understand is why a FEDERAL Grand Jury is not convened to discuss possible charges of civil rights violations against the patient or possibly Color of Law. Obviously, this was not a situation to where there was an immediate threat of violence in the scenario to where this matter could not have been solved at the hospital. First of all the trooper should realize that a gesture iteself even if he was being flipped the bird is protected free speech by the FEDERAL COURTS(which is a superior authority to any authority the state of Oklahoma gave the trooper). That is the first thing that alarms me is that the trooper is getting bent out of shape over something that is not even illegal. What also is interesting is that the EMT has to remind the officer that it is a crime in the state of Oklahoma to interfere with the duties of the EMT. What is also bothering is how the trooper uses profanity in a disgusting manner in the beginning. That is very unprofessional conduct in of itself.
