If she were a man, would her weight even be an issue?

Obama's pick for the next surgeon general, was hailed as a MacArthur Grant genius who had championed the poor at a medical clinic she set up in Katrina-ravaged Alabama.
Do you think your doctor should be a paragon of slender health?

But the full-figured African-American nominee is also under fire for being overweight in a nation where 34 percent of all Americans aged 20 and over are obese.

Critics and supporters across the blogsphere have commented on photos of Benjamin's round cheeks, saying she sends the wrong message as the public face of America's health initiatives.

But others support the 52-year-old founder and CEO of Bayou La Batre Rural Health Clinic, citing new research that shows you cannot always judge a book by its cover when it comes to obesity.

Even the National Association to Advance Fat Acceptance -- whose slogan is "we come in all sizes" -- has jumped to her defense.

Huh?

When it comes to obesity, yeah, you pretty much can judge a book by its cover. People are as fat as they look.

BTW, this fits right in with Obama and his smoking. If the President can smoke while warning us we should all quit, it makes sense he would pick an SG who's fat and warning us about the dangers of overeating.

Hell, he picked a tax cheat to run the IRS. He's nothing if not consistent.

Here's something interesting. Suppose that this H1N1 vaccine is proven to be the only thing effective against the swine flu. (Keep in mind that the virus has not been captured in its newly mutated form because it will not be in the Northern Hemisphere in that form until fall-timeframe [and it takes approximately 6 months to make a vaccine for a newly captured mutated and harnessed virus mutation])--

Anyway, suppose that this magic vaccine that is being poured into little viles today IS THE PERFECT POTION against this upcoming flu this fall--

And there is ONLY a certain amount available--this is true--there is only a certain amount available (WHO predicts this):

Guess who are among those who get first dibs at this vaccine?

The obese. The obese are considered "high risk", well, because they are obese.

That post deserves a Nobel Prize.
