Hello, Everybody! Please listen to and look for John Rich's new song, titled "The Good Lord and the Man." Every time I hear it, I get tears in my eyes. The song pays tribute to one man (but it might as well be all who served as part of the Greatest Generation) who fought in and won World War II but it also remembers today's men and women who are fighting in Afghanistan and Iraq. I hope Sean and all the other conservative radio talk show hosts will hear this song, see the video and will have John on as a guest to explain this wonderful song...why he wrote it, for whom it is written, etc. My father served in the Navy at the tail end of WWII and though his service was not as dramatic as other friends of mine, it still means the world to me - I'm still so proud of him! And the song mentions "Kwajalee" --- I'm sure John means Kwajalein, where my father served. So please look out for the video and listen to this wonderful song. And when you see some "old guy" hobbling down the street or being wheeled in a wheelchair, please stop and say THANK YOU. Or if you don't feel comfortable approaching a stranger, doff or touch your hat if you're wearing one (even a backwards baseball cap) or nod your head. And pray for that "old guy" who is the reason we have our freedom.

I wholeheartedly agree.
My dad also served in the Navy (destroyer escort) at the end of the war.
He was part of the that same Greatest Generation to come home and achive what is arguably the greatest peacetime achievement of the 20th Century (if not all time), the Apollo missions.
This week is the 40th anniversary of Apollo.
With the passing of Walter Cronkite and "Shifty" Powers yesterday, it's a poignantly interwoven few days for me.
