View Full Version : LEAKED: More Than 50 House Libs Privately Commit To Oppose Obamacare

They are set to oppose it, not because they oppose the principle, but because its not liberal enough. These libs oppose it because they want a balls-to-the-wall single payer plan.
This could be a good thing. Pelosi will be torn. She will be trying to get support from the socialist far left libs, but will lose the moderates/blue dogs. Or she could try to appeal to the moderates/blue dogs, but Obama and the far left socialists will not like that. This could create a lot of chaos and a messy bill that would be sent to die in the senate.

Maybe they sense a potential for a political reversal in 2010?
Go for the gusto while you can and all that.

I would not get your hopes up, she will probably just explain to them that single payer will come with time and get them on board.

The libs ALL want a single payer plan. The difference is whether they want to do it incrementally or all at once.

I doubt she is going to announce it, they will make calls and have private meetings. It is far from done, I just do not want to let my guard up.

You are right. Look what they did with the cap and trade bill, they tried to lead us to believe that it was off the table then they sprung it on us anyway.

Sounds like political terrorism and psychological torture to me.

Some Democrats felt that Cap and Trade didn't go far enough, yet they almost all voted for it (And the ones that voted against it did so because they were in conservative districts). This will work out the same.
