What is good for the people SHOULD be good for the politburo too...lets hold them accountable! This elitist mentatlity should stop NOW...here are some examples of their elitist privelages..
1. They dont participate in the SS as we the people do. They have their own retirement plans and get paid their FULL salaries for the rest of their lives even if they serve just 1 term. They dont care if SS goes bankrupt - they are protected.
2. They have their own Health Insurance plans - they are exempting themselves even in this new Health Care Reform that they are shoving down our throats.
Make them support this Bill
"So I've offered a bill, HR 615, to give them a chance to put their "health" where their mouth is: My resolution urges members of Congress who vote for this legislation to lead by example and enroll themselves in the public plan that their bill would create.
The current draft of the Democratic bill curiously exempts members of Congress from the government-run health care option: The people's representatives would get to keep their existing health plans and services on Capitol Hill -- even though the people wouldn't.
If members of Congress believe so strongly that government-run health care is the best solution for hardworking American families, I think it only fitting that Americans see them lead the way.
(Visit my Web site, fleming.house.gov, to see if your representative signed on as a co-sponsor to this legislation.)
Congress has the bad habit of exempting itself from the problems it inflicts on the American people. From common workplace protections to transparency and accountability measures, lawmakers always seem to place themselves and their staffs just out of reach of the laws they create.
Americans don't know that there is an attending physician on call exclusively for members of Congress, or that Congress enjoys VIP access and admission to Walter Reed Army Medical Center and Bethesda Naval Medical Center.
It is past time that we make the men and women making the laws be exposed to the same consequences as the American public."

I like it. However, they need to remove the ability to vote themselves a raise, 'cause that would be next to cover their superfluous additional coverage.

Nothing that is good for the people is good enough for them....we made them the "ruling class"...I dont think we have either party to blame for this - WE are to blame! And this will not stop unless WE put an end to it...they play on the partisan mentality among the voters, divide the voter base along gender, race and class just to stay in power!!!

...I heard a caller (on Sean's show, I believe), who said she called Chuck Schumer's office..
She asked if Mr. Schumer would agree to be subject to the same health care plan he is advocating for the rest of Americans, and not the plan he has now...
The answer she said she recieved, (from a staffer), was that he would not have to, because in the health care bill proposed,"People who are HAPPY with their CURRENT plan did not have to accept the new plan"...
..........Wonder if they put that provision in, just to cover their own as**s???

Great idea although an on-call attending physician for a sitting member of Congress is probably a good thing. Now, how about another bill that stops this pay for life issue? I never understood why that should be a benefit. They should get paid for serving and that's it............they have enough perks by virtue of having served that get them a leg up on future income..........

What is is implying is that he WILL NOT be HAPPY with the new plan....so it will never be as good as what they have now
