No problem, just call me Mr. Practical.
For our 5th anniversary I bought my wife an ax...the 5th anniversary is wood...now, for the last 3 years we've had plenty of wood to keep the fire going in the winter. And she is so grateful.

He could always go with the modern gift, which again is practical, and get you a clock. :)

you're lucky she didn't use it to split your head! lol
my husband only gets me 'practical gifts' when i ask for them and then he argues with me. "are you sure you want that?" to which i reply "do you want to get me what i want or just something?"
so, I've gotten a garbage disposal for Christmas, a propane heater for Valentine's day and a few other things not so romantic
though he gave me awesome earrings for Christmas this year and i've not taken them out since.

Okay...a compromise.
Print out the attached picture of diamonds, and you've fulfilled both requirements!

My wife bought man-made diamond earrings for her mom's birthday a couple years ago, but she ordered them too late.
So she printed out a large-size picture of them, folded them up, and put them in a shirt box...and told her they'd be there next week.

I'll take Curtis or CID's gifts any day. I LOVE getting practical gifts. I am not much of a dirt collector type person nor do I need or want jewels. Shoooot for that matter give me some totally cool yarn or fabric to create with and I am happy. Ohhh or even a buying trip to gt new pots or knives yup that's the ticket!

This couldn't have been a more prophetic post considering the nasty stomach virus we have right now. :))
Today is our actual anniversary. I've been in bed since Friday night and just now am feeling better. Jung got hit with it at 4:30 this morning and I expect him to be in bed through tomorrow evening. I don't think we'll ever forget this anniversary.
