I don't want universal healthcare but if that's what we end-up with, I think it should be paid for (mostly) by the fast food industry/consumer. Why tax those of us who don't play the fast food game? And you don't even have to call it a tax. Call it a user fee or impact fee.

Most health problems come about as a result of eating highly processed foods. For example, obesity, high blood pressure, diabetes, heart trouble, certain types of cancer, osteoporosis, constipation, hemorrhoids and digestive disorders, just to name a few.

Call it an impact fee. In many places around the country when you build a new home you pay an impact fee. The fee assums that certain services and infrastructure will have to be expanded or upgraded.

Right now the Dems are thinking about taxing high income people (mostly). But will they remember to index it for inflation? Remember what happened with the Alternative Minimum Tax (AMT)? It was started to get even with a few of the top income earners but wasn't indexed for inflation. Eventually, millions of people were earning enough to be affected by it, thanks to inflation.
