You show your 15 year old son Adam Sandler's classic "Red Hooded Sweatshirt" video from SNL and when Paul McCartney appears in the audience and does the "dip dip dip" part, your son says, "Who's Paul McCartney?"
:wall:
I've never felt like a failure as a father until this moment. :(

Nah, I'd say you're a shining example of what a father should be. Have you heard McCartney's new stuff? Seriously, you've done well.

LOL Goose!
My son told me the other day that Van Halen makes him sad. When I asked him why, he told me that every so often he'll hear a song on the radio that he's never heard and that he really likes and he'll think that maybe finally his generation got some decent artists, only to find out that it's Van Halen and he's out of date still. :))
He's funny, I can't think of one new song or artist that he likes. He gives me grief for listening to it and when I get in his truck, I get Frank Sinatra blasting at me! The kid was born much too late. He actually burned ME out on The Beatles!

I feel fortunate that both my daughters (now 21 and 24) love 60s music including of course the Beatles. And one of my prouder moments was when I overheard my eldest when she was in High School telling a classmate "Credence (CCR) never did a bad song." ;)

Reminds me of a commercial that has been on lately that speaks about being at the age where both your parents and your kids hate your music.
I would not take that as a failure if there are other more important things that he has shown that he has learned from his dad.

Actually, that's already his opinion and why he doesn't know who Paul McCartney is.
It's all about Metallica and Zeppelin right now as he's learning to play the drums.

I admit, I'm a fan of Ringo. Like I said, he got me playing drums. I used to check his website all the time, because he did interesting little videos, like "Name That Flower".
But, he put this video out last year in which he derided his fans for sending fan mail. I mean...really? What was that about?
