I had an idea for a movie several years ago, which tied the Women's Lib movement, Pro Choice, ADD/ADHD (the fact that 3 out of 4 diagnosed and then treated with powerful, mind altering drugs are males), the emasculation of men in the media and pop-culture, and genetic engineering, together as a pieces of a well orchestrated, vast conspiracy to make women the superior sex throughout the world. I called it Amazon 2100. I should work on that idea some more.

So how ethical will it be to produce a child from sperm that was generated from stem cells?

We have no idea what problem might occur in an offspring from what is basically manufactured sperm. I don't think we have any way of knowing if all necessary elements for there for a healthy human to be produced. I don't think it would be ethical to produce children from manufactured sperm just to see if the children are ok. Ya just do not create humans as experiments.

It reminds me of the problems with cloneing. One of them being that the cloned creature is born with their biological clock being set at the same age as the creature that donated the cells for cloning.

So, if the cells are taken from a 10 year old dog. The cloned 'puppy' will have the biological age of 10.

What I don't get is why these science guys didn't make something there's actually a shortage of or demand for. I mean, I could see making artificial gold, or oil, or anything else you could sell by the ounce or gallon but this stuff?? They're just GIVING it away!

The gentic pattern they claim is sperm wont be able to fertalize the females egg and produce a true human.
Think of it like this: The Sperm is the blue print and egg is the brick and morter.

Science needs discoveries like this to advance. You can't do a cost-benefit ratio on scientific discovery, because the "benefit" portion is often found far in the future!!

I never understood why I can think to put a seat up but a woman cant think to put it down.

True. But even in homes where both parents remain under the same roof, or at least still have a say in the rearing of their child, a great many fathers have been convinced over the years that ADD is real, and that their kids, mostly boys by a huge margin, need to be on all this mind altering stuff. My book/movie idea takes the position that this is by design in order to control a large segment of the male population. ADD was invented by women in order to aid in bringing men under their control.

Had that scorpion been in my house, I'd have made Tim Allen look like an amateur in choices of weaponry. Napkin would not be an option considered, effective though it may be. I'd have sprayed poison, fired bullets, or grabbed a machete to deal with the problem.

Never, ever, would I have been so thoughtful as to think a napkin could deal with a scorpion. Men's minds don't think that way. Seriously, men are the ones who buy the 100 watt light bulbs in the store and the women buy the 40 watt bulbs because men want the job done quickly and women want the job done right. Sometimes, they're right and you have to buy flowers and chocolate.

As to the Op ....you can't have cat's without dogs....you can't have birds without fish....you can't enjoy life unless you understand strife. Yuck! I HATE scorpions! Many of them met their fates under my desert boot when I was at Ft. Bliss,TX. Now it's spiders and Grand Daddy Longlegs because like a lot of women my girlfriend is also terrified of spiders and snakes.
