"Frank Lombard is the associate director of Duke’s Center for Health Policy. The university administrator was recently arrested by the FBI and charged with offering up his adopted 5-year-old son for sex........University administrator Lombard is accused of logging on to a chat room online and describing himself as a “perv dad for fun.” The detective who wisely looked into the suspicious screen name says that Lombard admitted to molesting his own adopted son. All this was before allegedly inviting a stranger to travel to North Carolina from another state to statutorily rape his already-molested adopted son.......The only good news coming out of this story is about Frank Lombard’s live-in homosexual partner. The affidavit in support of Lombard’s arrest warrant shows that he made special arrangements when molesting the child – sometimes even by drugging the child – to make sure his partner did not find out. "
I wonder where the statement from outraged faculty members is?

Nonsense. The case is just developing. As this Huffington Post piece makes clear (http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2009/06/27/frank-lombard-duke-univ-o_n_221900.html), the school acted immediately and properly. If the guy did what he is charged with doing, he is properly scarred for life. But the Duke lacrosse case is a valuable lesson in jumping the gun. There were plenty of righties who wanted to string these guys up for life.
The legal system works ... if it is allowed to proceed.

Are there any legitimate studies of gay men with adopted children?

It's nice to see tha thte Duke staff has learned it's lesson about jumping the gun and convicting a person who has only been accused. I haven't seen a letter signed by 88 faculty members calling for his removal from the university. I wonder if they would have had the same lack of response if he played Lacrosse.

There's already a thread on this in GIT...and what, exactly, does this have to do with politics, much less Washington Politics?

I'm only guessing here, but I'm thinking because he's the director for health policy and since healthcare "reform" is the current target for the Obama admin..........

I was leaning towards "they figured they'd get more traffic in WP and didn't bother to look in GIT", but okay...
And if that IS the reason, chip just ripped a hammy stretching to make this a WP issue.

You dont find it interesting how the politicians and media have treated the 2 cases differently?

That was tongue in cheek, sorry. :D The problem with the Duke fraternity case was that these guys set themselves up by their actions. Although I am not accusing them of any criminal wrongdoing, I would never participate in any activity that would give even a hint of impropriety. I value my reputation so that I can look anyone in the face any say unequivocally, "Not Guilty." I am sure that their retrospection would also cause them to wish they had taken a different path. And I was not one of the conservatives that demanded their heads. I thought it was suspicious from the outset.
