View Full Version : Grieving Jackson Fans 'Commit Suicide'

BillBrown

This article claims that at least 12 grieving Jackson fans have killed themselves.
It doesn't give specifics and I'm hoping it isn't true.

I know the world has gone nuts, but I would be astounded if we have degenerated into anything this stupid. Surely we haven't.

People that ignorant should off themselves and do so before breeding.

I would hope people aren't that stupid especially for their families but I believe they are.

Yeah, it's natural selection at work.

It is tragic if true.

I don't think it's tragic at all if people are committing suicide over something like this. It's just silly. I hope it isn't true.

I don't know if you read the article, but it said Jesse Jackson has a YouTube clip trying to prevent these suicides.

Jesse Jackson? The whole thing sounds like a bad joke. I hope it is.

I tend to view this as sad. I pity.

Then again, suicide hits close to home for me. I don't view any such action as "stupidity." They're lost souls, and anybody who considers such a thing needs help. I feel sorry for them and their loved ones.

Not to derail too badly, but speaking of weeding out the stupid:

"Drunk man dies while trying to cut through a powerline with an industrial saw."

Suicide is always tragic.

My whole life will in no manner be changed either way concerning MJ. In fact, I love Thriller, Billy Jean and Beat it, but I'll listen to them anytime I want.

I expected this to happen in at least a few cases.

Of course suicide is always a sad thing for those who were close to the dead person.

BUT... those who killed themselves over MJ's death should get Darwin awards.

They should have gotten help long before. Sounds like these folks were unstable and that was the last straw.

This is not uncommon at all. It's really, really sad.

MJ was talented no doubt. I don't own or enjoy his music...not my thing, but he was talented and a part of pop culture...that's it.

This media circus and adulation over a drug addicted probable pedophile freak is sickening and shines a huge light on what our countries priorities are and the state of our society. He even got a moment of silence on the floor of congress...sickening.

These are the same people who voted Obama in office. To me it speaks volumes with regard to the intellect of a huge portion of our population and media.

Awesome generalization...

I didn't vote for Obama, but I'm a huge MJ fan. Even had an interview air on the radio about the whole thing.

And yes, I visited his childhood home (twice, brought a friend who wanted to see and didn't know where it was). There's a great sense of community there.

Would I kill myself over it? No. But I pity those who attempted (and succeeded), because they must be just as lost on the inside as MJ was.

I agree. I feel sad for the families, but we should thank the morons for taking themselves out of the gene pool. Of course I feel this way about everyone who commits suicide. I just have no sympathy for them.

Yes, while American soldiers in Iraq and Afgan bleed and die, as well as the liberals selling America out. Lets do get our priorities straight!

Are you suggesting depression is a fictional, drug-manufacturer-manufactured lie?

I've heard that before.

Yes, it's a generalization, but I've heard more than one celebrity or person on TV claim that MJs accomplishments and legacy is partially responsible for our country being to the point where Barak Obama could be elected president...not that that's a bad thing.

My point was these same people would have probably voted for MJ as president as they see Barak Obama as more of a pop icon than the right choice to lead our country. I don't think I'm that far off base.

Well, everyone's entitled to baseless speculation.

Why would you think that? Depression, bipolar, can be a terrible thing.

I'm hoping you never have to deal with loved ones committing or attempting suicide. Furthermore, I hope you never have to witness it with your own eyes.

I'd hate to think you'd call your loved ones "weak minded selfish cowards" after experiencing such things.

I would call them that in a heartbeat. What I said is exactly what I meant. So stop trying to pull the bleeding heart **** on me because it won't work.

I notice you didn't answer the question.
You can think whatever you want. You can post whatever you want.

It reflects not on me.

But I have the same right.

And I reiterate. I hope none of your loved ones are ever caught in such a terrible situation. Especially after your confirmation about the whole thing.

Unfortunatly this is nothing new. I remember fans committing suicide when Kurt Cobain died too. I am sure there were people who offed themselves when John Lennon died too.

Some people are just not mentally sound.
