The Marxists have 60 votes, plus add in Juan McCain and the Morons from Maine I don't see how the Marxists can't muster 50 votes to pass this abortion of a bill.

What am I missing?

Maybe the dirty little secret that has been officially outed today. (EPA report discussed in another thread)

I wonder if that's why BO just did a live speech about how great its going to be when we're all just like Californica.

I am hoping for a filibuster.

But i doubt the Republicans will do it.

If the same proportion of Democrats vote against it in the Senate, even with about the same proportion of Republicans voting for it, it won't get cloture.

Every bill has to pass cloture in the Senate, there doesn't have to be a stated filibuster.

It will pass the Senate even easier. The tough part is over. You are missing nothing.

It won't pass the senate. There is too much time to alert the public of it's ludicrous nature.

As I understand it, every bill in the Senate has to get 60 votes before the final vote can be tallied.

I'm inclined to agree with that. The house phone lines were apparently assaulted on Friday, when that vote seems to have happened rather quickly.

Looked like a bi-partisan rejection of the House Bill and the RINO's that did vote "for" were the usual suspects.
Maybe some level headed Democrat Senators will pay more attention this go around and the Repubs. stick together.

We as citizens need to jam up the phone lines and email our senators and let them know what we really think of this piece of excrement bill. We have the time to do it, but we need to get started now. We can't wait til the last 24-48 hours to let them know how we feel. We need to get started and keep up the pressure until they vote on it. this is way to important to let slip through the cracks. Let your senators know that this bill is highly dangerous and will cause them to be unemployed just like the other 10%+ of Americans.

Let's not forget that the coal industry states will never go for it. So there goes West Virginia's votes, as well as a few others.

Sadly, the Senate will probably add more pork and throw it back to the house with it's blessing.

Bunch of ignorami.
(I'd really love to be wrong, here.)

You may be right. We have to fight it. Never underestimate the power of someone fearing re-election. If our voices are loud enough, there will be hesitation.
