It's a long list, so I'll just post a link to Glenn Beck's site, where he lists all the yes votes. These are the folks to campaign against.

http://www.glennbeck.com/content/articles/article/198/27312/

No surprise on some of the names: Nancy Pelosi, Maxine Waters, Barney Frank, Charlie Rangel, Chaka Fattah, Joe Sestak (my ignoramus rep).

Side note: Sonny Bono's widow is a member of Congress? Did she take over his term or something? She's one of only eight Republicans who voted for the bill.

Let's start naming things for what they will actually do:

Well, she won the rest of his term in a special election in 1998. She's won since then.

I guess you like being controlled by foreign entities who supply us with oil at their gougiest price possible. Keep campaigning against cap and trade -- or clean energy and you again will have taken the wrong path. I guess you don't have children or grandchildren who would benefit from clean air, and sustainable energy sources. We need that dirty oil from foreign lands!!!

Thanks. I wasn't aware of that...

You are kidding right? If not you are very uninformed as to what is really in this bill. I know you did not read this bill in it's entirety as none of the congress people did. I'll await your reply. Thanks! MC

You have absolutely no idea what you're talking about. Our government thinks they can legislate what other countries are going to do. You think China and India, who want what we've had for decades (two car households, etc) and are on their way up financially are going to voluntarily lower their emissions? Hell no. So when it becomes prohibitively expensive for American companies to operate here, they will move over there where the same regulations don't apply. More job loss. More sinking economy.

In addition to the fact that the government has just created a brand new commodity to be traded on the markets - carbon credits. How long do you think it will take for us to have carbon futures and carbon options?

Hellooo, Sagebrush! You still out there? Have you decided that you probably should have done some research before posting here. Hello, I really have a problem with congresspeople voting on any bill that they have not read or understand fully. Especially those bills that will kill us financially and take liberty away from me, my kids, and my grandkids. Hello, I just wanted to let you know that I especially liked the part where they are going to adopt California's building codes and have them enforced by the federal government. You know, the part of the 300 page addendum they added at 3:09 am on the day of the vote, that nobody got to read or examine before the vote. Helloooo. Hmmm, a liberal posting here and then running away without a debate? Say it isn't so.

Oh and I loved the part where the banks are made to go "green" so that we can all have a "green" bank to go in to to negotiate unattainable mortgage loans. Say it ain't so...............

Those who voted for crap and tax will be judged by history once the damage from this is realized and recorded. When this current crop of criminals are gone and hindsight sheds light on their crimes they will make Carter look rational and sane.

I have been in business 24 years and our company produces a product made of mild steel and welded together then painted and then goes through a bake on process. The welding process uses a lot of electricity at numerous stations. All of our finished product gets to market via the trucking industry. If you know what the crap and trade tax is gonna do you know already we will be hit hard because the welding process utilizes CO2 as a shielding gas. They will then TAX us on the natural gas we burn to bake or cure the paint jobs. The electrical utility company we purchase our electricity from will then also be raising our monthly bill ( approx. 4500.00 ) a month to rediculous rates because of the enormous TAX they will have to pay because 90% of the power they produce comes from coal fired power plants. Then we will see huge increases in freight costs because the boy king and Pelosi will be coming down hard on the trucking industry due to diesel burning engines in their fleets and don't forget the fuel price increases to astonomical levels with CRAP and tax also. I rest my case, we are just one of 1000's and 1000's of small business industries like ours that will not stand much of a chance of survival. Oh yea, total employess = approx. 90 jobs that could be lost if this bogus, no truth, intrusion of a bill (H.R.2454) passes in the Senate !! Wake up folks and call, E-mail or fax your Senators !!

If you just made your product from renewable bamboo and environmentally friendly raffia fiber you wouldn't have a problem. Admit it, you just WANT to destroy the environment, don't you?

Socrates, you got it , we are hell bent on destroying the environment !! Ha ! Really on a serious note we already work under very strict burdensome EPA guidelines through the TECQ ( Texas Commission on Environmental Quality ) and other various government regulatory agencies. Heck, we have a environmental consulting firm hired on that it takes to wade through all the red tape all 12 months of ea. year. If this bill passes the Feds will over shadow the agencies at the state level and I'm here to tell you businesses haven't seen anything yet when it comes to red tape, taxation, fines and government intrusion.
