I was a bad kid growing up. Always in trouble. Instead of riding the bus to get my drugs from my dealer I would jack a car. I was both feared and admired in my neighborhood due to both actual violent acts I committed and the subsequent myths that surrounded them.
Even the police feared my wrath. I was left alone as though I had a force-field around me.
One unfortunate rookie officer did not realize who I was and one day decided to try to question me about a recent home invasion I had perpetrated. As he tried to cuff me, I took his gun from him, lifted him over my head and tossed him into a dumpster while the gathering, admiring crowd chanted, "Throw The Cop - Throw The Cop - Throw The Cop...."
And the name stuck...

How does one get a nickname "breezy"?
Easy. Where I used to work my office was in the "front" office. Between the "back" office and front office was a large shop/garage.
The guys in the back never got their paperwork correct and I would, several times a day, have to go from my office to the back office for corrections on paperwork.
The mechanic that worked in the shop started calling me Breezy because of the rather swift way I would "breeze" through the shop. Swift, because generally I was hacked off every time I had to go back there for the same mistakes over and over on paperwork.

June 29th, 2009, 3:38 pm
My first fantasy football team was called the "Delaware P-Funk Odyssey" because I'd become really big into, you guessed it...p-funk. Everyone in the league (which ran for a few years) referred to me as "Funky" because of that.
Dr. Funkenstein is a Parliament Funkadelic tune.
My other choice, had Dr. Funkenstein already been taken here, would have been g_money24, which is a combination of my rap name, G-Money (I was once in an a capella group that did opera-style covers of rap songs) and 24 in homage to Ken Griffey Jr.

Well...... lessee..... my first name is Jim, so the first part still makes sense, but the rest of my name is no longer relevant to me. The "GP" stands for Grand Prix which was my favorite car in NASCAR Winston Cup, and my favorite driver is Tony Stewart, thus the "20". Now, the Grand Prix isn't being made anymore and Tony has switched to number "14". I can still use the "20", since my birthday is Oct. 20th, but the GP is gone forever.
Oh yeah..... my former name here was stuckinliberalhell. I lived in the San Fran. Bay Area, so no explanation was neccesary for that one.

What is the best method of brewing? What's the best roast? Bean - arabica?
Hey look, someone asked me a coffee question!!:D I tend to be a little long winded, so excuse me if I go on and on.
For brewing method, I like a drip pot but it's got to be a good one. The key is having the proper grind and a pot that can produce EXTREMELY hot water (200 degrees). Better made pots use pressure rather than a pump so that the water must boil to leave the chamber and pass over the ground coffee. Believe it or not, coffee geeks will spend a lot on a good drip pot. I have a no frills pot from a well known kitchen store. No clocks, self grinders or other bells and whistles please. French press is my second favorite way to brew, but it makes a dense cup since some of the solids slip through the screen.
Roast is a matter of taste. I like what's known as a "full city" roast which means the beans have cracked twice and are relatively dark, but not yet oily. Oily beans are over roasted. In terms of roast, freshness is key. Sean used to have a sponsor called Boca Java. I'm not sure if they still sponsor, but they roast to order so when you receive your beans they're only 48 to 72 hours out of the roaster. Coffee has to rest for 12 to 24 hours after a roast so that's a GREAT deal. There are other micro roasters who sell on the net.
In terms of beans, yes Arabica is the best. The alternative is robusta which tastes strong and rubbery and is used as a "filler" in commercial roasts. There are hundreds of countries of origin for coffee. And coffees have good years and bad ones like wine grapes. Right now I love Indonesian coffees and some Africans. There is a coffee from Rwanda that has won awards and is currently available through some of the premium roasters. I also love the bright "sparkly" coffees from Costa Rica. Not a big fan of Colombian, or Hawaiin here. If you want to pm me and tell me what you like. I will make some suggestions of some sure to please coffees. As I said, I home roast so I buy my beans green from the importer and roast to taste.
I know, I type too much.

Interesting. I know a little about that too - as I enjoy good coffee. I did know that hotter is better, and the faster the brew the better. That is why I have a Bunn with a holding tank. Pour water in, coffee done in two minutes.

On a personal note, my family hails from Calabria, and we have a family crest. I have reason to believe that the crest dates back to the first Crusades. The crest in located on a stone gate in front of the family home that was built in the 12th century. My ancestor held the title of Baron.
