CSI:NY is the only one I like...I can't stand that redheaded dude in Miami, and just have never gotten into the original series.

I used to be the same way. For a very long time I couldn't stand Horatio. He drove me to distraction. (I was always a fan of Calleigh Dusquesne though.)
The more I watched it, however, the more I came to like his quiet manner and dedication to the work he does.
There are a lot of people who dislike him, however, so I can see where you're coming from.

I love NCIS!
As far as the CSI series go, I love the Vegas one.
But then I've been a fan of the actress who plays the lead (her name escapes me right now) since she played Casy on China Beach.

I can't stand any of the CSI shows, I like NCIS but for pure entertainment, Bones is the best.

I love me some CSI!
Las Vegas is hands down the best. NY is pretty good too. Don't like Miami.

I like CSI in Vegas the best. I watch the others when they are the only ones available.
Recently I've gotten hooked on NCIS.
I've become a fan of Burn Notice too.

I only like CSI the original in Las Vegas, my favorite head is Grissom. ever since he left the show it hasn't been the same. he's the wise old man who leads the team!

My wife and I enjoy CSI Las Vegas, but not so much since William Peterson (Grissom) left. Our favorite though is NCIS - great characters... good scripts.
(That hot red head is Marg Helgenberger, Bella-day. All women should look that good at 50 years old. ;) )
We dislike CSI Miami and never could get into CSI NY... too dark; too gritty big city. We prefer to think of NY as a Woody Allen movie. ;)
Bones (not really a CSI show) is kind of cute, but it is a lightweight in the character and script department.

That is what makes it so enjoyable to watch. I like the fun side they show, and they show it a lot. ;)
My son just purchased the complete series on DVD. There are 67 DVD's.

I like Horatio because he's so absurdly melodramatic, the low voice, always looking at stuff sideways and best of all his ridiculous rhetorical statements/questions.
Frank: "Looks like she was shot five times in the face Horatio."
Horatio: "Well then [dramatic pause] we've got a murder [dramatic pause #2] don't we
Frank."

That sort of inane dialogue makes me want to leap into the TV and slap him silly. It would be acceptable if the show was a parody, but it pretends to be serious.

Parody. What a nice word. It describes Bones to a "T". They make fun of all the crime shows, and even throw in a little soft porn every once in a while. I really enjoy the sub plots and twists and turns the shows take, and that is why I watch TV, for enjoyment and entertainment, not knowledge.

I watch all 3 but the original is still my favorite. I miss Gil Grissom.

That may be how Bones is perceived, but I am fairly certain that that is not their intent.
But I agree about watching TV for entertainment not knowledge... anyone who thinks that any of these shows is accurate is fooling themselves.

I watch them rarely but like the NY one with Gary Sinise. The only thing about all of them is the premise that these CSI guys, who in real life rarely conduct investigations as the lead investigator, go out in the field investigating rather than stay in their labs after collecting the evidence.
They are rarely armed and don't make the arrests of the bad guy. Also, some of the scientific equipment they show seems to be taken out of a futuristic science fiction movie being able to analyze even the most obscure forensic trace elements.
It gives the public a belief that every crime committed involves the use of lab that is always well funded with highly sophisticated equipment, even if a majority of cases don't involve that technology. Most crimes are still solved by good old fashioned police work with eyewitnesses, interviews and confessions, and other circumstantial evidence.
