In 1984, John Schnatter, founder, chairman, and former CEO of Papa John's, sold his cherished 1972 Z28 Camaro to buy $1,600 worth of restaurant equipment to open a pizza joint. Now that he's got a worldwide empire under his belt, Schnatter has set out on a cross-country mission to find his original Camaro. He's even offering $250,000 to the person who reunites him with his long-lost ride. If this is a publicity stunt designed to bring in some free advertizing, then I think it's very clever. Otherwise, if it's not, I think it's kind of sad that with all of his wealth he can't just forget about it and move on. It was just a car; and now it's just an old car. It might have been totaled in a wreck and used for parts. Leave it be; the memory is better than the reality.
By the way, pizza is bad for your health. Just because it has tomatoes on it doesn't make it healthy. It's high in fat, high in sodium, high in calories, generally low in phytonutrients and low in fiber. And what do most people drink with pizza? Soda or beer (high sugar and high calorie).

:rolleyes:Part of it is promotion, the other part is he apparently really wants his old car back.
It's an actual contest, $250K for the winner, if there is one.
If irony serves, he'll find out it was totaled by a Domino's Pizza delivery driver and has since been crushed!

The article says He's even offering $25,000 not $250,000.
If I had it I would offer it back to him for exactly what I had in it plus a years supply of Pizza Hut pizza.
The nearest Papa John's is about 45 miles, which is okay since their Pizza is crappy in my opinion.

The article links to the official site for this, where you will read he increased the original reward to $250,000.

Then why didn't you mention that people would need to link to a link at the OP link to see the $250,000 offer?

Must be why I see them everywhere.
That said, I don't blame him. I had a '68 Camaro in high school that I restored and sold to pay for college. I know exactly where it is and exactly who has it right this minute and there's no way I could afford to buy it back from him after all the additional work he put into it. It's sitting in the garage of a Houston real estate attorney and the bastard repainted it. I had a beautiful Cali Blue paint job on it and he went and defaced it with some mauve-looking hue with black racing stripes.
To be fair, when I had it, it was a driver. He trailers it everywhere it goes.

25,000 or 250,000 whatever. Point is hes offering alot of money to retrieve this vehicle. I hope he gets it back. Someone from nothing, made something for himself, and we should applaud that. That is America. Well it use to be.

Sixteenth century people from the Americas had to prove to Europeans that the tomato wasn't poisonous, unlike other members of the nightshade family of plants.
Other edible members include the potato and the eggplant.
I now return you to your regularly scheduled slacking.
