That is not a retirement, that is an execution. IMHO.

In a related note:

I was just at Wal-Mart over the weekend and noticed that they are selling some very nice 35mm SLR's for around 100 bucks. Not just the camera, but a whole kit.

But I probly won't get one. I'll wait for a digital SLR.

The real execution was the end of ASA 25 Kodachrome II several years ago. The color was unsurpassed and the stability superb.

Do you know what brand(s)?

Canon and something else. Can't remember.

Thanks... My daughter has a Canon Rebel, but she was talking about upgrading her film camera. She has a Canon 40d too... that is one fine digital camera.

You asked for it. The best song on "There Goes Rhymin' Simon".

Something seems to have gone missing in the transition to digital from film, at least to these old eyes. My wife works as a photographer and has access to some ridiculously high res digital cameras and printers. The pictures lack vibrancy or contrast, especially with landscapes. Maybe I'm just inclined to the old ways. ;)

I don't know about that... we were in Seattle in April and made a visit to the zoo. The photos my daughter took with that 40d were astounding. Color, density, contrast, depth of field... I was stunned at how good they were.

Yeah, I'm sure there's no technical reason for what I'm seeing, other than a "nostalgic" brain. ;)

Did I mention the only digital camera I own is the one in the phone the cellular company gave me for signing up? ;)

Cell phones have cameras in them? When did this happen?!

;)

I don't know, but the instructions that came with the phone says the phone is equipped with one... I have never used it.

My eyes see a big difference also. I have an Argus 35 SLR film camera my wife brought for me years ago. The digital pictures can't hold a candle to the film. IMHO anyway.

My son tells me he can see the pixels where the color breaks on the digital pictures, that is what throws off your senses. That what he says anyway. :)

That'll teach you to fiddle around with your cell phone while getting ready to take a shower. ;)
