Yeah, poor Ed.... he keeled over when Obama called, wanting to hire him to host his new ABC show, "Czar Search!"

RIP Ed, now I can quit waiting on you to show up at my doorstep. I was so sure you would, dammit!

I wonder if right when Ed walks up to the pearly gates, does everyone in heaven inhale audibly at the same time thinking "Oh boy I finally won!"

Okay, nuff of that. He was the vanilla to Johnny's chocolate, they were a great pair and will be sorely missed.

Also, thank you for your service in WWII Ed. You and Carson are together again.

Ed was the voice of an era. He was the personality of late night t.v. long before there were personalities, the Tonight Show was Johnnie's but Ed was the one who introduced it and who let us all know that another day had come to an end. There was comfort in it, before late night news and other shows, when Johnnie marked the end of a long day.

Thanks for everything Ed, you deserve the rest.

Also, thank you for your service in WWII Ed. You and Carson are together again.

He not only served in WWII, but served again in Korea.

Lesser known than his media career was his military career. McMahon was a US Marine Corps pilot in World War II and took a break from his early broadcasting career to return to active duty as a fighter pilot in the Korean War. He retired from the Marine Corps Reserve as a Colonel and was then commissioned as a Brigadier General in the California Air National Guard.

Ed McMahon was a Great American.

Rest in Peace, Col. McMahon.

As a tribute to both Mr. Carson and Col. McMahon:

Carnak (divining answer to mystery card): "Sis Boom Bah".
Carnak (opening mystery card to reveal the question): "Describe the sound of a sheep exploding."

<watch Ed and Johnny giggling/laughing for a show record number of minutes>

I still can't help giggling every time I see that.
Godspeed Colonel.
