View Full Version : American leadership is weak, and our enemies obviously know it.

During every campaign, the conservatives make the argument that liberals are weak on defense. The Left howls about how ridiculous a notion that it.

Well, looks like our enemies agree that liberals are weak. Say what you will about Bush, and I was certainly critical of MANY of his initiatives (many were not conservative at all), but he wasn't one to be messed with by the lunatics of the world.

Would Iran have pulled this crap if we didn't have a limp-wristed liberal in the White House? I doubt it.

Would North Korea be daring us to provoke them, testing nukes, and now apparently attempting to distribute them? Doubt it.

Obama is beholden to those who elected him and funded him. The Code-pinkers, move-oners, and every other peace-at-any-price PAC. If he acts decisively against Iran or North Korea, will the useful idiots who elected him howl that he is a war-monger or a war criminal? And if he doesn't act decisively, what will the consequences be for this country?

Bill Clinton's presidency was a bit ineffective, but it certainly wasn't the disaster that the conservatives predicted. (Of course, this whole China/North Korea nuke situation began with a toast to Madeline Albright). But Obama's presidency is aiming to be more of a disaster than the Carter presidency. I hope the Dems weren't planning on keeping power too long. It hasn't taken them but 5 months to make those "crazy Palin conservatives" look like geniuses.

NK has been an issue since the 90's. They tested missles and provoked the US during the Bush admin. Bush lifted the sanctions on them just last year. So it's not a left-right thing, it just part of the US policy.

'I am laughing at all the people that had no problem with policies that were fine under Bush, but now think America is on the path to destruction. '

not as much as me laughing at all the people who had a problem with Bush policies who now think Bammy doing them is A-OK.

They tested their first Nuke in 2006, yet two years later the Bush administration set into motion the lifting of sanctions and declared that NK was no longer a terrorist nation.... Nice job.....

WASHINGTON, June 21, 2006 – President Bush today condemned North Korea's planned missile test launch and said North Korea needs to live up to its commitments to be accepted in the world community.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2006_North_Korean_missile_test

Two rounds of North Korean missile tests were conducted on July 5, 2006. The Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK or North Korea) reportedly fired at least seven separate missiles. These included two short-range Nodong-2 missiles, one Scud missile and up to two long-range Taepodong-2 missiles; the latter having been estimated by United States intelligence agencies as having a potential range reaching as far as Alaska in its current stage.

You were saying?

North Korea does this every few years no matter who is President.

Brits loudly object to Khamenei calling them “evil” — Obama shrugs

The British government has demanded an appearance of the Iranian ambassador in London after Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei referred to them as “evil”. The British, who have diplomatic and trade relations with Iran, took offense to the speech, and demanded an apology. Instead, they chewed out a junior-level staffer:
***********

France, Germany, and now Britain — all trading partners with Iran — have managed to stand on the side of demonstrators attempting to peacefully end their oppression. Where is America, the beacon of liberty, at this moment? Wagging its finger at the oppressed in an attempt to build credibility with the oppressors. Shameful.

Are they really called "Nodong" missiles?

How poetic.
