My Xbox 360 died last night

I got the Red Ring of Death last night.:(( And right before two more DLCs for Fallout 3 are scheduled to be released.

Luckily, the warranty is good until September so I'll be able to get it fixed for free.

Microsoft is very good about replacing its defunct units. You'll probably get one with the new Japser chipsets. They are supposed to be a lot better about red rings.

Red Ring of Death.(RROD is a bitch. My 360 got it for the first and (so far) only time almost 2 years after I bought it. I had microsoft send me the pre-paid, pre addressed box for shipping. Their repair center is in south Texas and I live in New York. Between waiting for the box and getting my repaired Xbox back took 18 days total.

Here's to hoping yours gets speedily repaired and returned with no future RROD. :D

Quick question...I just bought my brother's Xbox 360 a couple days ago..

I really don't play games that much and don't know much about it to be honest
but it was a deal I couldn't pass up

What is it and why does it happen?

It says this one was made in Sept of '07..

My brother never put it under warranty...I have the original warranty card sitting on my desk..
Could I still mail it in to them?

I brought in MY system to UPS to be sent to the manufacturer because it failed on me.

The guy immediately thought it was an XBOX 360 and when I told him it was a PS3 he said he NEVER seen a PS3 get sent back yet.

Sony gave me good service as well, BTW. I just thought it was funny how he expected my system to be an XBOX 360.

I bought the cheap arcade one when that happened and took the hard drive off my old Xbox and attached it to the new one, problem solved.
