The 16 year old kid was lying face up and unconscious on the floor. Yet the Pharmacist says he thought the robber would kill him!
If this guy really feared for his life, why did he go back into the store?
Why did he step over the body?
Why didn't he call out to the employees to see if they were okay?
The kicker - the Pharmacist was the ONLY one who fired a weapon!

I cant really muster up any outrage over this.
You commit an armed robbery, you pretty much take the risk of dying.

District Attorney Prater said that had not retrieved the second gun as he did and then shoot the perp on the floor as he did even if the perp had died from the original wound it would have been a clear cut case of self defense and Jerome Ersland would have been remained a real hero.
Even with the police there are lines that get crossed and legitimate shootings turn into crimes.
The same goes for self defense shootings.
Do I have sympathy for the perp, not really, but I still believe the last five shots the pharmacist pumped into his prone body took it way beyond self defense and into murder.

That's why I don't mind when SWAT guys get popped when they serve no-knock warrants for victimless crime.
The only difference is that it's government-sponsored.
