View Full Version : Tea Parties Need Focus Oppose Enron Breath Tax

Critics of the tea parties held in April noted that participants lacked a common theme. They carried signs dealing with a variety of issues making it difficult for simple minded critics to understand what was going on.
Critics don't understand that protesters felt that government wasn't interested in them except as a source of funds for government programs that sometimes have little or no apparent value.
The original Boston Tea Party had a specific theme - a symbol of what colonists felt was wrong. Colonists were tired of people an ocean away making decisions without considering their input. The new Tea Tax was just the latest evidence that government didn't consider them important.
The carbon dioxide tax Congress is considering provides a good symbol of how politicians in Washington ignore the common people in their desire to benefit the rich and crooked. As I noted in the previous post, the whole idea of carbon taxes and carbon trading are part of a scam developed at the corrupt Enron corporation. Lawrence Solomon reports that Enron for all practical purposes wrote the Kyoto Treaty.

Enron may be gone, but other companies are waiting to take advantage of the scam Enron's Ken Lay set up.
The proposed CO2 tax provides a strong symbol of an unjustified tax to protest against. Future Tea Party participants should carry signs saying something like "Say No to Enron's Breath Tax." A few participants might bring CO2 fire extinguishers or some dry ice and buckets of water so they could release CO2 into the air.

A lack of "understanding" isn't what spurred critics. They want to marginalize people that disagree with them. It is SOP, and having a more specific focus won't change that.

The Tea Party movement needs to focus on the one simple thing that would instantly bring prosperity and low taxes to America -- the energy issue. They need to stage noisy demonstrations to advocate drilling, digging and nuking.
They need to emphasize that alternate energy is just fine. But in the meantime America needs oil, coal and nuclear to make the use of alternate energy possible.
Offshore oil could be in your gas tank in one year, not ten. It would create tens of millions of high-paying jobs and enormous tax revenues for all the states, coastal states in particular.
For example, Alaska, because of oil, is the wealthiest state in the union. Not only do residents not pay state tax, but the state gives every citizen $1000 each year.

I've never understood the Tea Party thing myself. What is the central idea?

Unfortunately it is seen as protesting taxes that haven't been implemented yet.
I wish it would have been about and specifically stated as a protest against spending and unrestrained government growth.

It'd be great to see future parties with less racism and hate towards the president as a person.

Got proof to back up that claim besides the garafaloon interveiw? May I remind you that those 5 idiots the MSM CHOSE to interview did NOT represent the movement whatsoever. For those who don't yet get it 3 words should sum it up:
DON'T TREAD ON ME
and that goes for ANY and ALL political affiliations.
Get it?

I'm not sure what interview you're talking about. However, I went to the local tea party and I was surprised to see signs with racism. I'll be at the next tea party, I just hope those few don't show up again.

I had 2 sick kids that day and couldn't go, but I watched the Party in Indianapolis live. I didn't see ONE sign that was racist. All were along the lines of 'eliminate the Fed' and 'repeal the stimulus'
After wards I visited a healthy variety of local papers on line and did not see one racist sign there either.

The very few racist signs could well have been liberal plants trying to create chaos from peaceful gatherings.
