I've got an item that belonged to my late uncle that is just sitting in a box and I was thinking about selling it. I was going to just use eBay but I wasn't in any rush so I thought I'd see if anyone here had any advice on selling this sort of thing.
The item is a framed, limited edition print of a painting of Stan Musial and it is autographed by Musial. It must be worth something to somebody.
Anything else I should consider besides EBay?

Ebay or google sports auction house.
Best thing about sports fans is they tend to be competitive. Ebay makes that the perfect environment for the seller.
Timing is important. List it around his birth date or other key date in his career.

Depending on the size of the print, you would be looking at 200 - 300 ( 300 maybe ). Stan did a lot of autographs in his time. His autograph is not a "hot item."
With a low item like this, Ebay would be your best best. If you run into any other items that you have reason to believe are "valuable," let me know, and I can direct you to more appropriate sites.

Thanks for the advice guys.
I've seen another one of these autographed prints on Ebay and no one seemed interested, but the seller seemed to have a pretty unreasonable entering price for it.

Good luck Socrates. My husband would be drooling over your autographed painting of Musial. Stan "the man" was a neighbor when hubby was a kid, and they used to go and get his autograph from time to time, but his mother gave away all his sports memorabilia when he went into the Navy.
But I'd shoot him if he spent one more dollar on that sort of stuff, having several cases of baseball cards and the like in storage.
