For those of you that are pro-life, how many of you have adopted children?

For those of you that are pro-choice, how many of you have had an abortion?

Guess that eliminates 50% of the supporters (men).

Be fair. How many pro-choice men have had a child they conceived, aborted? Men are involved and affected by the procedure even if they can't physically have an abortion themselves.

Actually, we have adopted a child in our family. He was 5 yrs old, and had been in an adoption center for half his life. When we had first met him, they had thought since he was a son of drug addicts and he barely talked, that he was mentally retarded. However, I must say now he is thriving and we cant get him to shut up. lol! He has some pretty serious learning dissabilities, but is one of the best things our family has done I must say.

I am pro-life and have not adopted any children. I have not done so because thus far in my life I am not in a position to care for a child. Hopefully someday my future wife and I will do so. My family, however has a long history of foster parenting. My eldest brother and his wife would have loved to adopt a child but feared that at a later date the birth parent might try to reclaim the child. Sad but true. They watched the case in Chicago that involved the councilman or judge or whatever he was, and decided they could not bear such a thing happening to them and "thier" child. They therefore decided not to adopt.

This is the typical stance of pro-abortionists.

There is no blame given to promiscuous, thoughtless behavior......just......"you bad pro-lifers should adopt our unwanted children brought about by our reckless thoughtless and promiscuous behavior".

The originator of the thread is probably a troll that has been previously tossed off the board (note: 5 posts).

What would being pro-life have to do with adoption? pro-choicer's adopt; pro-lifer's adopt; republican's adopt; democrats adopt; libertarians adopt; middle class blue collar workers adopt; famous people adopt; wealthy people adopt; people who can have kids adopt; people who can't have children adopt..the list goes on and on ad nausea.

Should we 'make' those with pro-life views more responsible then those who are pro-choice? Doesn't sound right to me...sound right to you?

I love how anti-choicers always have to bring in promiscuity into the equation. I wonder how many anti-choicers only have sex when they went to have a baby.

If you want the babys born then put your money where your mouth is and help them AFTER their born, or is that when you stop caring.

Pro-lifers do put their money where their mouth is...don't believe me?

Do a little research on who it is that donates the more money and time to charities in this country.

Here's a hint.

Conservatives

I'll even make it easy for you. Here's a couple of handy links.

This is another imaginary "gotcha" commonly used by people who know very little:

For those of you that are pro-life, how many of you have adopted children?

The question is irrelevant, but the answer is "me".

For those of you that are anti-life, how many of you were aborted?

(I don't mean just having the mental ability of someone who was aborted; I mean being really physically aborted. All those who have been, YOU are the only ones who can tell me that abortion is "safe".)

Cons give more to charity because they want the tax break. True story.

The tax break doesn't pay for the amount given, only a small percentage.

Cons give money to charity because they truly BELIEVE in helping others less-fortunate, by using THEIR OWN assets to do so.

Libs give money to charity via big gubmint so they can pretend they're doing something and feel good, without actually doing anything. And if they get votes along the way, so much the better.

REAL true story, not a fake true story like you may hear from other posters.

Well I am one conservative that doesn't even get a receipt with my donations and do not claim it on my taxes. And our church offerings go in the plate as plain cash, so no receipt, no tax break for that either.

Really? At one point I made ALOT of money. (When I say alot, I mean I was able to put $400/month into savings/stock market and still have plenty left over) I donated quite a bit of money to 4 different charities. Not one of those donations, at any time, was mentioned on my tax returns. Even now that I am broke, anything I give to charity is not used as a tax break.

I adopted a boy 20 years ago when he was 10 days old. I've also reaised two step children whose mother walked out on them when they were 10 & 11. They are in their 20's now too.

I like kids. I grew up with 8 siblings and wanted a big family of my own. But as it turned out I had a couple of pregnancies that did not turn out well. So I ended up with my three. It's odd because even as a child I wanted to adopt children. Don't know why.. it was just always there.

At 17 children and adoption should be one of the last things on your mind. You're a smart kid with a lot going for you. You have a lot to accomplish in the next few years. Than you will be ready to be a great parent.

I have adopted no children. Why? I have 6 of my own. If I had the funds to do so, I would. Oh, and if it wasn't for adoption and abortion was chosen, I wouldn't have met my beautiful wife and had these beautiful children. When you end one life you prevent a lot more.

One exception does not break a rule.I would think the fact that you only get a small percentage of you donation taken off your total tax liability would belie the whole "conservative donations are all self-serving" canard. Anyone who pays $100 for the sole purpose of getting $35 off their tax bill is not very bright.
