.....we would have elected Duncan Hunter as President of the United States in 2008.
I know, I am crying over spilt milk. I can' t help it.
One of the great travesties of the 2008 presidential campaigns is that the best candidate was never able to gain enough momentum to sustain his campaign.
If the fundamental concepts of Americanism still mean anything at all, Duncan Hunter was far and away the best candidate.
Congressmen Hunter has proven that he understands that the ultimate source of our unalienable right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness does not come from elected officials, it comes from our Creator. He fought the ACLU's efforts to show disregard for our Creator by removing religious symbolism from the public square for many years, and won.
Duncan Hunter understands that the unalienable right to life goes along with the unalienable right to liberty and the pursuit of happiness.
Duncan Hunter understands that no republic can survive without border control, and has been responsible for the construction of over 50 miles of fence on the Mexican border.
Duncan Hunter knows that the Chinese government is not the friend of America, and says so.
Duncan Hunter was endorsed by people who have served America with class and with courage, like Chuck Yeager.
Duncan Hunter knows what national defense is all about. He served with the unit that suffered one of the highest casualty rates in Vietnam (173rd Airborne Div.), and served as Chairman of the Armed Services Committee.
Duncan Hunter opposed most of the bailout provisions.
Duncan Hunter is a man of substance and a real Republican.
Americans don't want substance anymore. They want tin horn Chicago politicians who promise "hope and change", or republicrats who use "reaching across the aisle" as their claim to fame. .
Then there are right wing anarchists who use their favorite candidate as an excuse to wage a campaign of unmitigated rudeness.
Will Americans have a change of heart before 2012?
I certainly hope so.
