I think you're confusing hard-right rhetoric with what liberals actually say. Only the right-wing call the President "the messiah", not Democrats. And of course since we're all Godless atheists, we can't even pretend to sound like that :).

That nearly ties the number that could name his accomplishments and qualifications for the job!

Only hard line right wingers call the president "the Messiah"??????? Hardly.

That's terrible advice for a kid. But it's in line with those who think of Obama as a messiah who can give black people some manners, a God-child descending from the heavens to teacheth benighted African Americans the virtues of books and proper English and the evils of Pacman Jones and blaming the white man. It pains me to deliver this sobering news to those who think Obama will wave his hand and erase whole ghettos: Barack Obama is a black President, not black Jesus.

I have seen some "Change" in my personal life. I just recieved a letter from Visa (Chase) and they are increasing my interest rates. My previous rate was 5% on both cards from this company and they are increasing it toooooooooooo (Are ya ready for this?) they are increasing my interest rates on both cards to 23% plus prime!

The longest I have ever carried a balance on these cards was 4 months... I joked during the campaign that Obama's slogan should be "Welcome back Carter".... I didn't dream it would be worse than Carter.

Gotta love that "Change". Glad the credit companies are using OUR tax money to help us out.

I cannot remember what town he was visiting but pre election Obama was being driven -along with cars full of security people- through the roads of this town and in the background the gathered were heard saying 'its the messiah, the messiah, here comes the messiah'.

It was this kind of fawning and the belief by some that he would save them that it became a thing of ridicule.

Maybe we need to lighten up a bit on the Barry. After all he has only been in office for 6 months and he does have the 2012 campaign to think about.

We can all rest easy knowing that he did keep ONE campaign promise. And it only cost "WE THE PEOPLE" $250,000.

Yes but it was an article explaining that Obama aint the messiah to Obama supporters not right wing Conservatives.

Which you implied were the only ones referring to Obama as the Messiah. :D

Don't forget Obama looked hot in a swimsuit as well.

Not to rehash this on this thread but Liberals keep defending him on this. I keep forgetting to bring up this point....

WHY did they need to take a "Special" trip to New york. It's not like the POTUS never visits New York City... Hell, he will probably have to visit NYC within the next month.
Why did they not WAIT until that time? They could have save a whole lot of $$, time, Earth killing emissions and bad press from a small group of news outlets.. (I say small because the Main Stream Media ignored how irresponsible it was and they hyped it up as a good thing)

Obama is God.
All hail Obama - he is risen.
Hallelulia!

Basically, the reason he appeals is because there are active brain cells between his ears.
(Unlike the indolent dolt before him)
For some strange reason, that strikes a positive chord with a like-minded type of voter.

I love this framing. Obama is named "Messiah" by those who oppose him. Then, they to after him because people use their framing.

Farrakhan is very, very conservative. But, this framing came from RedStaters looking to mock Obama. Now, they're attacking him for their own framing.

I posted a link to an article in Time Magazine earlier in this thread where Time Magazine is pointing out that Obama supporters were the ones that called him the messiah and why they were wrong in doing so.

But spin this if you must.
