So we took the kids to see it. I was expecting something that was as good as the first. It was horrible! Lots of plot errors and alot of not so funny moments that actually got annoying. I mean they trash the Smithsonian and no othe guards or people are around. They fly the Wright Flyer through a window. It is not anywhere close as funny as the first one. I honestly don't know why it did better than Terminator other than people won't take kids to see Robots that kick butt.
So IMO, I would just wait for it to come out on NetFlix and get it for a dollar. Don't buy it.
I've heard the movie to go and see is the new movie UP. Looks cute and funny.

The first 'night at the museum' played on TV last night. I only got to see part of it. Damn work anyway.

Yeah, that one is very funny and great. I'm not sure what Ben Stiller was trying to do with this film. There was a plot but there wasn't a plot. The kids didn't even like it. :(
BTW, We had three 9 year old girls and one 12 year old boy with us. We should have seen UP

I haven't seen an adult movie in forever... just as my kids get grown, I now have a 3 year old grandson to entertain lol.
That's ok. I like good animation; we watch Cars and Shrek (I, II, III), and Toy Story (I, II) and Monsters Inc., and a whole lotta Spongebob

According to Rotten, Up has 98%
http://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/up/
Which is very almost impossible to get (but then Pixar has a history of 90+% movies). Rotten compiles as a thumbs up or down all the newspaper critics in the country.
If it's a film I'm considering going to watch, it has to have reviews of over 35%. 50% usually means worth a shot if the premise has some personal appeal. And more than 60% means generally a good movie regardless.
The new Star Trek also had more than 95% iirc and was excellent.

i saw Terminator instead the second time. only Transformers and Terminator are the movies i will be willing to pay for this summer.

I usually don't like 3d of old. Is this better and something new, or just the hokey red and blue glasses?

The second "Museum" felt like it was just thrown together to garner a buck. The plot just stumbled along and was more a vehicle for the graphics that the Smithsonian could provide.

not even comparable. not the hokey old red and blues - just look like the glasses on the old man.
however, the effect is staggering.
story is excellent as well.

Me and my daughters went to see this (it was their first time ever at a real American drive in as they live in England) and it was crap.
The story did not seem to go anywhere and it seemed like an over extended commercial for the museum (museums) itself.
Hank Azaria saved the movie and the scene where he is deliberating if Vader and Oscar the grouch are evil enough to join his team of villians was very funny.
I have been to the Smithsonian website and have not yet been able to find a 3d map of the building which I can rotate on my screen and see all manner of stairwells and back corridors.
What really spoilt it for me was what someone else said, as they were running through the museum I kept wondering where the other guards were.
However my girls enjoyed the Drive In which for me was the most important thing.

Where was the Drive In?
Hubby and I ran across one just north of the San Ysidro Border Crossing that we THINK might still be in business. But it was the first one we've seen in decades....
We miss them.

That's ok. I like good animation;
All my favorite animations are adult movies0.0 (And no, not what Aero Engineer is grinning about:)) ), just anime targeted at adults more than kids.

I like the Spongebob lol.
The little guy enjoys cashcab too. Because 1) it's a car and 2) lots of flashy lights inside ("why don't you have lights like that, Neema?").

Hull's Drive-In Theatre is the nation's only not-for-profit community owned drive-in. It is brought to you by our many generous local business sponsors, and by the hundreds of friends and volunteers that make up Hull's Angels Inc. Remember, many of the staff you meet on the grounds and at the food and merchandise concessions are volunteers.

Great story. The drive-in closed, but was saved by volunteers and is now community owned and run.
I hope to get the chance to take my grandson this summer. Watching a movie in a car??? He'll be in heaven lol.
