View Full Version : Democrats: Party of race baiters

How come everything is about race to democrats? Obama ran his campaign on a strong platform of race, anyone who criticized him or who was against him was a racist. And then you have Keith Olbermann and Janene Galafaro calling anyone who attended the tea parties racist, despite there being several minorities at the tea parties. Texas Democrats shot down a voter ID bill because thats racist for some reason. Don't forget key democrat members like Al Sharpton and Jesse Jacskon who are notorious race baiters. And just today we have Sonia Sotamayor's race baiting and racist comments from her past coming up. This is just the tip of the iceberg I could go all day, Democrats are the true racist party.
I can't seem to remember a time in the past few years where a conservative/Republican has been racist.

Do you have some evidence showing this was a widespread opinion among mainstream Dems?

Again, do you have this exact (and entire) clip?

Were you living in under a rock during the tea parties? There were only about 500 threads created about it. Sounds to me like you are just trying to troll and pick a fight for the sole reason of picking a fight. Therefore, I am going to ignore you.

Debating does not have to be a fight. Perhaps this dramatic approach is why you see it as race baiting though.

You make a generalization about roughly half the electorate, and I'm gratuitously picking a fight?
BTW, I'll give you that Garofalo made something out of this that wasn't necessary, but just because KO says "mm hmm" and "uh huh" doesn't mean he thinks all the party attendees were racists (though I do believe it foments below the surface with some of them). And whatever you think of Garofalo, her appearances are more satirical than anything. She wouldn't be my first choice to take part in bipartisan dialogue on any issue.

"Do you have some evidence showing this was a widespread opinion among mainstream Dems? "
Is President "typical white person" Obama a mainstream dem?

Well, he's already hedged several of his bets SO far...
My point was, the OP suggested that claims of racism against Obama opponents were coming from basically anyone left of center.

Because the tactic works well for them.

Are you suggesting she's the Anne Coulter of the left?
I think she said what she believed and she was viciously insulting of black conservatives who she believes must have Stockholm Syndrome.

I wouldn't call that an unfair comparison.

I agree that questioning peoples' motives is a dangerous game, and again, her base audience is looking for her to be controversial.
I believe that if you pin both Garofalo and Coulter down:mrgreen:, they'd both admit to exaggerating their true beliefs.

Many Conservatives claim that they don't see race.
I tend to lean liberal. I do see race. I can look at a person and determine if they're black or white, or whatever. Doesn't mean I care, but I can see it. So what. But I see it.
Race baiting. Keith Olbermann and Garafalo are hadly spokespersons for the left. If you need to be reminded, the "Left" doesn't really rely on talking heads or television media to give them the news that they seek. Most don't do radio except NPR, and alot don't do t.v. unless it's Frontline or the McNeil-Leher News Hour. Most read the news from several sources, many not from this country. Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson? You're barking up the wrong tree. They're about as significant to the Left as as carbon paper is to a copier. We don't do talk show, you do!
Before you lose the plot, just think about how well Obama's played you guys. A qualified, hispanic woman to the Supreme Court. This choice has made many Hispanics across the country happy. How are you gonna play this where you'll go after her hard, but not upset the few Hispanics that vote Rep? You're not. The Reps in the Southwest who's constituents are largely Hispanic are fretting over this. Best to let this one go, admit defeat, and move on to the next one. And the complaints of this nominee I can't help but come from those who wish all judges be nothing more than strict Constutionalist Conservatives. Not going to happen.
You had Bush. You had Roberts (who is Conservative, but his credentials speak for themselves, and frankly, I have no problem with) and Alito (a hardcore Conservative, who was the second choice of Bush, the first being Harriet Miers. Wow was that fun?") Enjoy a pick from Obama. That's how this Supreme Court stuff works. In fact, there's probably gonna be two from the Anti-Christ as you list him.
Have fun

Who was the twit Garofalo debating when she was on tv in front of the camera saying we were racists? There were "patriot Americans" in those tea parties, who sought no harm to anyone (actually not one car was burned) and only wanted to get the word to the politicians that we don't intend to be taxed any further. People had their little babies and some had their whole families there. What a difference from when liberals get out there. BTW, there were definitely some black protesters there.

Never mind that when the pubs nominated a black man, thomas to the supreme court the liberals did everything they could to sink him and NO ONE, not one SINGLE NEWSPAPER, TV ETC called the libs RACIST.
If the pubs had done that to a black liberal, the liberal media would have been screaming racist 24/7.

It's because of vote buying. You must have something to buy votes with these days.
