I don't have much to say about this other than it's obviously ridiculous that he was fired. I know people here will find this interesting though.

Sounds to me like this is a school full of kids who could barely perform at the high school level.
No educational institution should lower standards just to get students to pass. No teacher should be forced to compromise when the students are simply incapable of the work.

The worst part of this for me is that most ARE capable of the work. They are being enabled in their laziness. If they were required and expected to perform at a higher lever, they would reach and grow and we would all benefit as a nation. Passing poor students helps no one!

I side fully with the professor.

Having taught college students, I realize that the majority of them are simply lazy and care-free. Only after they get failing marks do they start to take responsibility for their actions.

Besides, college education is SIMPLY in the hands of the students! I had NOONE hold my hand AT ALL throughout my college education. That is the absolute truth.
