If question no. 1, about the jaywalker, had an option that said, "Drive over the pedestrian and pretend you thought he was a speed bump," I probably would have scored lower.

Not that it matters in Atlanta. Turn signals are a sign of the weak.

There is no "probably" about it. It is. In Europe you may pass only on the left.
If you are in the right lane and approach a slower car on your left you must slow down and move to the left lane behind that car, which then must move over to the right to allow you to pass. I'm not so sure thats always a good thing. In theory its a nice idea, but not in practice, I've seen many close call "scissor" maneuvers as the cars trade lanes as they are even worse than we are about maintaining safe distances between cars.

Aced it, 100%. It didn't have any new school questions like:
If you see a kid hood surfing down the freeway, do you:
1: Video it for a cool upload on YouTube?
2: Text message your friend an OMG! picture of the idiot?
3: Call 911 and tell them to send a cop with a dash cam?
4: Multitask and do all of the above.

The following distance seems to be confusing for a lot of people?
I had two grand kids and two of their friends at my house one day and the conversation got around to driving.
I grilled all of them about rules of the road.
They had all received their driving instruction and taken their tests for their licenses in four different states.
Every one of the bunch answered exactly the same when I asked what was a safe distance to keep between them and the car ahead of them on the highway.
"One car length." is what they all said.

I took exception with a some of the questions...
13. You may drive off of the paved roadway to pass another vehicle: Correct answer was "Under no circumstances"
However, when there is an adequate unpaved shoulder it is legal to slow down, pull onto the shoulder, and pass a left turning vehicle.
16. Under most conditions what is a safe following distance? Correct answer was "3 seconds"
... but both of the other answers are also correct.
17. There is an emergency vehicle coming from behind you with emergency lights on and flashing. You should: Correct answer was "Pull over to the right and stop"
... but that only applies to two lane roads or lightly trafficked multi lane roads when it it safe to pull to the right. Most States do not require you to come to a full stop either. And if you are in heavy city traffic, you should stay essentially where you are in traffic and try to make as much room as possible for the emergency vehicle to make their way through the snarl once you see which way they are attempting to go.

The rule used to be one car length for each 10mph but was changed to "the 3 second rule" because it was easier for a driver to use.

I got 95% cause I went too fast I think, missed the one about the solid yellow light.
I was thinking of the yellow light in a traffic light and not one of those individual yellow caution lights they have over some intersections.
When I moved to Texas from Massachusetts in 1991 I had to take a written test and passed with flying colors without studying for differences.

The 1 car length to every 10 mph Is what I originally learned in 1971 or was it 1972?
Of course that was also meant as a fair weather normal road condition rule.

I got a 90. Missed 13 and 16. I had 16 right, but changed it from 3 seconds to 10. Don't know why I did. 3 seconds is plenty of time to react in most situations. as for 13, no matter what the law may be, If I am approaching a vehicle which is stopped and making a left on the state roads in my area, where the posted limit is 55 MPH, I will always opt to slow down to a manageable speed, make myself aware of any cross traffic, if non, drop to the gravel shoulder, and pass. I will never change, even if ticketed for the maneuver. Way too many times, I have seen rear end collisions which were caused by inattentive drivers not reacting properly to highway sudden stop situations. I will not be a sitting duck when that happens.

The question was about the yellow light in a traffic light. The law is that you are to stop at a steady yellow light if it is safe to do so. Caution lights never shine steadily... they always flash.

It is where my grandson got his instruction paid for by his grandmother when he came of minimum driving age, over my strong objections, my argument being that he was too immature at the time to be a good driver and might be so for life.
So far in only about 9 years he has managed to wreck nearly more cars than the total I have owned in my life.

About once or twice a year, we get a "tragic story" in the newspaper about a young driver running a bunch of friends out for a quick lunch off of the high school campus and with a car full of kids, he "shows off" and winds up crashing or flipping the vehicle with death and injuries.
Immaturity has no place in driving. All of these kids get "Driver's Education" in school (instruction required for a license) but showboating still happens anyway. Now there are laws that limit young (under 18) drivers driving at night and which passengers they can carry (basically adults or siblings).
Maturity can't be taught. It's a matter of upbringing and in this day of pushbutton parenting where Nintendo babysits and texting is the preferred communications method with the OMG! generation there's not enough proper parenting to instill much maturity.

I don't take tests like that, either. But, the whole email thing was after having taken the test. I didn't fill that part in; I figured if it gave me results, fine, if it didn't, fine. Who gives a rat's patootie if they are disingenuous if you haven't given them your info? Do you think it makes the test suspect? I believe the test was genuine (if somewhat short).

Did you think one car length was a safe following distance at 65mph?
For years, the rule I learned was one car length for every 10 mph you were travelling. I hated that, because it is impossible for me to figure out how far 6 or 7 car lengths is. The new rule I've been given is to allow 3 seconds difference between you and the car in front of you. Much easier to do: pick a stationary object and count during the time it takes for you to reach it after the car in front of you did.

90%. Question number 14 is kind of a trick question.
14. When you are merging onto the freeway, you should be driving:
A. At or near the same speed as the traffic on the freeway B. 5 to 10 miles per hour slower than the traffic on the freeway C. The posted speed limit for traffic on the freeway
Most other "experts" will tell you that you should never exceed the posted speed limit. This one is telling you to go with the flow of traffic (good common sense, not legally defensible). I chose the legal answer. I of course ALWAYS obey ALL posted speed limits.
:doh::whistle::whistle:
