FoFree National Rifle Association membership
The National Rifle Association is giving FREE one year
memberships to
everyone who wants to join. (Normally $35)
They are trying to build up their membership to defeat
pending
legislation that would eliminate your right to keep
and bear arms.
It is very important that anti-gun congressmen see how
many people
they will have to fight in order to enact this
legislation.
https://www.nrahq.org/nrabonus/accept-membership.asp
PLEASE PASS THIS ON TO EVERYONE YOU KNOW.
r those who might be intrested in your rights to own Guns.

My husband and I both joined, paid our 'dues' and almost immediately started getting so much junk mail from them it was ridiculous.
So they fill my mailbox with crap then support legislation that limits gun rights. No wonder they have to give away membership.
Nah, I'll pass. They got a few years of dues from us and seemingly spent every penny of it filling our mailbox with junk.

No thanks, a few weeks back I was getting so many calls for them trying to get me top join. My message to the NRA "Leave Me Alone".

That's odd because I've been a member for 20+ years and rarely get anything other than my magazine, a few legislative alerts a year, a couple of solicitations for the ILA, and an order offer for holiday cards.
I get more junk mail from the car wash up the road than I get from the NRA.

Thanks for the heads up Drink, although, I would be careful, as this may be considered Advertising. I would check with a mod about this to be honest with you.

That's why I dropped my membership... and I kept getting the calls for years afterwards. If I ever do rejoin, I will give them a wrong number... got any suggestions of whose? ;)

I've also been a member for many years. My experience has been similar.

I don't care for the NRA. They tried to claim responsibility for some groundbreaking legislation we passed in Georgia last year after they supported opposition to it.

Did anyone check to see if this is true?

Yeah It looks legit, as the NRAHQ is there program gateway.
Say Hoobeedoo, what went on there in Georgia, I never heard about that bro.

Ok, no link and no commercial... but the NRA pales in comparision to GOA in terms of no compromise on giving up your right to keep and bear fire arms. (I'm a member of neither one.). Do i remember correctly that the NRA celebrated it as a victory when the DC gun ban was overturned BUT the decision said that DC could still regulate any guns you owned, which in effect means they can make you jump through so many hoops it's near impossible?

I dunno what the difference is, but they did it to both, my husband and myself. We signed up at a gun show one year, paid for 1 year memberships for each and soon after, ok probably a few months later, started getting junk mail and renewal notices. The renewal notices were especially pesky. If I sign up for a year, I don't need to be asked to renew for at least 11 months and if I renew, I certainly don't need a renewal notice a month later, two months later, ....
Maybe you just have more tolerance for junk mail, maybe you have a different opinion of what constitutes junk mail. All I know is that I regret ever giving them my address.

I joined when the first Brady Bill was passed under Clintoon. I welcome the magazine and don't even really notice if I get anything else from them. As you said, there's a ton of junk mail that just gets tossed, but I don't throw out something from the NRA without reading it first. And it's not often that I read a letter they've sent.
Could this be the next tip of the sword to get out the word about how the evil NRA needs to be shut down for harassment?

Gimme at least a LITTLE credit, INH! They're far from the worst offenders as far a junk mail goes. If I was looking to get someone shut down for harassment via junk mail, there's quite a few businesses that I'd like to see to first!
I don't like junk mail. I joined as a way to support their efforts. As y'all have already stated, we get enough crap in our mailboxes. All they need to do is spend the money protecting our rights and instead of sending me stuff, put the information that they would have mailed to me on their website and I'll go get it at my convenience.
I don't care if anyone else joins or not or if they continue to exist. I'm glad they're at least somewhat protecting our rights, but I don't need more NRA stickers and repetitive renewal reminders.

I would rather have the NRA on the phone asking me to join
than Obama at my door asking for my guns! :))
