About 30 minutes ago I gave my 6 cats a "late night snack". I always pour out a little food, on 3 separate paper plates, so that there isn't any fighting. Well, I keep checking the plates, and when they are all done, I bring the remainder back indoors, because raccoons often come up and 'steal' the food if I don't. One of the older males, Bud, was just now the last one to finish up. There was food left on every plate, and he wandered from plate to plate, nibbling. Now it's all the same food-- and it struck me as hilarious that he went to each one, and nibbled as though each one was different, and as if it were a 'Cat's buffet'.

Then it struck me how often the average voters are like that cat. Politician A and politician B are like two plates-- one says political stuff and others say political stuff, and the voters wander from political weenie to political weenie, and 'eat up' the same old shuck and jive over and over. Politicians are about power, not actually representing the people. So they have to 'pretend' to be better than the other guy, and trick the "nibbling public" into thinking their plate has the "better food". Yet lately, they are all the same. They all vote more or less for more spending, they all vote more or less for social programs of one type or another, and they all attack the other guy over stuff they themselves have done.

YOU can be the outside observer, like I was tonight. Rather than laugh at the "Cat buffet" get out there and tell the people about how the politicians are all doing the same thing, despite what they say. Show them that they are all doing the same thing, despite at times professing different political beliefs. Challenge the people to hold these political weenies accountable, in both parties. Vote them out if they do not DO as they SAY.

And last of all, there is one question I have.
Are you a cat, nibbling at "The Cat's Buffet"?
