As far as "end of the year" hi-jinks goes, it doesn't equal the one a few years ago where a graduating senior released a greased pig into the high school corridors, but it makes for an interesting point of discussion:

Ironically, my wife is an assistant principal. She has this fantasy of playing that song through, "Teachers, leave those kids alone" over the intercom during a teacher planning day AFTER she becomes a principal.

There was a case locally a few years ago (a cousin was graduating) where kids ransacked lockers and vandalised school property. They were allowed to graduate but not march, and protests were rampant that day.

I wrote in the letter to the editor they needed to give them the "Michael Schumacher Treatment" -- strip their grades for the entire school year, automatic fail, and make them repeat the grade again as punishment.

Some even asked me what it meant!

"Michael Schumacher Treatment???

1997 Grande Premio de Europa - Jerez de la Frontera, Espaņa.

Schumacher (Ferrari) was leading the points heading to the final race when Villeneuve (Williams) was second. Keep in mind three years prior, Schumacher pulled off a suicide move against second-place driver Damon Hill by running off course in Adelaide, then ramming Hill so both cars were out, and Schumacher would win the championship.

Well, well. We're now in 1997 at the last race of the season. Schumacher has a tight lead over Villeneuve. He tries the same move in a tight hairpin at the Spanish circuit. He hopes to take out Villeneuve in the same way so neither man scores points, and he wins the title.

Both cars crash, Schumacher is out, but Villeneuve pits, gets back on track, and finishes the race in the points that he wins the title.

FIA authorities aren't too pleased with Schumacher's suicidal move to win the title, and punish him by revoking his second-place status, stripping him of all points in the year, and showing he was disqualified from the title.

My take was the students who did the criminal acts needed to be stripped of all grades of the year and forced to repeat the same grade again as punishment, similar to what authorities did to Schumacher. Very few people in the local media even knew who was Schumacher!
