I was looking through their website, and come to find out, they now sell furniture?
They have an extensive selection of Arts and Crafts/Mission style furniture (which my wife loves) and the prices are great.
It seems some assembly is required, but that's not a problem for us. I'm concerned about the quality of the furniture for the price, but I've never had a bad experience with Home Depot before.
Any personal experience?

I agree with mission style.
It is hard to make with press board and laminate. I don't see how it could be a problem. You might be better off asking those at comsumerist.com.

I've always bought my furniture from Home Depot. Well, some of it at Lowe's.
Cinder blocks and wood planks are all you need for a fully furnished home.
Happy Shopping!

Buy more than you think you need. The rest can go to the back of the reliable old El Camino!

You underestimate Chinese ingenuity. :D
I like mission style too, but I have to balance it out with something contemporary. Too much dark wood in a room doesn't make it feel inviting.
Thanks for the referral, I'll check that site out.

I bought a toilet or two from there. Too bad someone's gonna buy one that's had some "pre use" to it.

It has been my personal experience that you get what you pay for.
Arts and Crafts/Mission style furniture is inexpensive because it's easy to make, with just straight cuts and 90 degree angles. It can be very sturdy furniture, if it is made from solid oak or other hardwood. If it's anything less than that, I guarantee it will be in a yard sale within 2 years.

Only that anything made of particle board will not survive more than a few moves no matter where you buy it.

If it's solid wood, you should be OK. Stay away from any particle board.
As far as putting it together, the big secret that most furniture stores don't want you to know is that most of their furniture comes dissasembled.
So as long as the quality is good, does it matter if they are putting it together or if you are?

This is true, but you are more likely to blow out your knee. It is a trade off.

Particle board is good, solid composite material.
I built a treehouse for a guy's children out of particle board because it's dirt cheap compared to solid wood.

I have a book shelf I bought from Home Depot. Solid pine.
I had to put it together myself...but it was well worth the $50.00 I spent on it.
Solid purchase!

I hope you sealed it in some way because after a few rain storms......
For furniture, stick with solid wood.
