I learned that my grandmother passed on Saturday night. On Thursday, I am to have the honor of being one of her pallbearers. She was the last of my grandparents. An era in my life is now over.

I'm sorry to hear this, my last Grandparents died in the late 70's but I still think fondly of my Grand Mothers, one passed in 1969, sweet people. My condolences to you and your family.

I am sorry for her leaving a hole in your life.
For me, it's been more than 30 years, now -- and just a couple of days ago I was wishing I could consult with Grandmom about how to make her prize winning pickles. sigh
But, in all honesty, I'm not sorry to see you climbing one notch higher on the Cycle of Life.
You make a whale of a great adult in full control of the world us aging old foggies have to live in, one of the "kids" I shall be glad to see take over in my behalf.
I pray she rests happy in the Kingdom of the LORD, her burdens at last laid down, so she can PAAARTY! with all the Saints who transitioned out of this Vale of Tears before her.
I'll bet she and my own grandmother are trading recipes and sharing tips in a heavenly kitchen even now as I type this. :))

So sorry for the loss of your Grandmother...
Just remember that while an era of your life ( Here on earth ) has ended a NEW Era has begun for her in Heaven...
With a Gloified Body and a chance for her to be with old friends and family that have gone before her...
So while we selfishly wish we had them back ( And that is normal ) we should rejoice in their new start with our Heavanly Father...
You will be in my prayers my friend..

Just got back. Needless to say, funerals stinketh to high heaven. That said, I'm still not dealing with it, it seems.
Of course then life likes combos on me. My dog Daisy is losing strength in her back legs to the point of serious consideration of having to put her down. We're gonna try steroids to help with that, but I don't have high hopes yet. I'm taking a wait and see and willing to give it up to 2 weeks to see if it works. Regardless, it's only going to improve her life so much for so long.
So yeah, what a week so far.

Double whammy, to say the least.
You hang tough, darlin'. We need all the tough, strong, durable young men we can get these days.
I just wish wisdom and strength of character came without such heavy price tags.
But, even so, you'll do, for you've got what it takes to endure the trials and rise to the top, a man of faith worthy of trust from not just your fellow man but all the earth's creatures, including dogs like Daisy.
And we'll hold you up with some prayers for just exactly that.
You'll do according to Daisy's needs, not your own, because you are trustworthy. And strong enough to take the grief for the good of all beings who trust you.
I pray the steroids work to give you yet a few more years of her companionship. And I pray you find peace of heart and mind to see you through to wise and gentle care for her in turn.

thanks Rhet. But something else you should know too. I move out and start to finalize my divorce at the end of this week. So she is my Ex's dog. Even so, I'd hope for her to get healthy to enjoy say one more year with her, but still I don't want to see her life end sooner than it should.

I had wondered about that -- and been praying about it, too.
Will she let you take Daisy with you? CAN you take Daisy?
And bet on prayers for Daisy -- and for a smooth peaceful parting of the ways, so you may begin a new life without millstones around your neck.

No, it's best she keep daisy. She's the aspiring vet... almost done too. Plus Daisy's a mumma's girl.
Yes, a new life without millstones or milestones around my neck. If all goes well I move into my new place this coming weekend.

Then we shall just have to pray for all to go well and that move to definitely occur, without hassles and absolutely minimal stress.
