I always feel sorry for the wives of politicians who have to deal with public adultery. However with Edwards, i feel more sorrow when i read excerpts of her initial reaction, and how she still suffers from feeling betrayed. Maybe it's because she's dealing w/ terminal cancer, and he chose the worst time to do this to her?

Why can't these guys just keep it in their pants?

That applies to most guys whether politicians or not. John still claims that the baby isn't his...we'll see. If it turns out to be his, I can hear his political spin already..."I was trying to protect the feelings of my dieing wife"...

She has the option of leaving.

If she chooses to stay with a cheater, I have no sympathy for her in that regard.

That option may be more feasible for others who are not dealing with a slow death sentence and have to tak care of two small children.

To which one could easily respond..."Oh I'm sure you just care so much about her feelings, you know having cheated on her and all"

I did feel sorry for her until now. I have no respect for her writing a book about it and now making the circuit to promote it. Don't the Edwards have enough money????? My goodness!!! I feel sorry for their kids, now that their Mother continues to keep this embarrassment in the eye of the media. Shame on both of them. Their behavior has been cheap and common.

I can apply this sentiment to John Edwards...but to his wife...I don't know. Elizabeth is a modern woman...she's not Jackie O....know what I mean? She doesn't have to hide it...and doesn't have to pretend it hasn't happened. I think many want to know what keeps her at home and with her man. She could just as easily leave him..and justifiably so in my book.

John will never serve in elected office again...he's toast when it comes to his political future. His wife however, can make something positive out of this black mud hole he put their family in. Only time and the day time show program will tell.

I might buy this if she was somewhere living in a trailer park.

But she has more than enough resources to provide capable medical and child care. And if she doesn't, she should sock it to him for some hefty alimony and child support payments. He is a multi-millionaire, after all.

There is no hiding it. The Enquirer made sure of that. Nor has anyone said she has to pretend it didn't happen. I have lost respect for her for keeping it before the media and continuing the embarrassment her children no doubt feel. I no longer respect her for trying to make money off it, while her children suffer. To me, she has gotten down in the mud with her husband and his cheap slut. She is not behaving like the class-act I thought she was.

She has a book out...in which she mentions her cheating lying scum of a husband. Is this what you think is her trotting out her dirty laundry and airing it for money? ROLFLMAO...Wow...talk about way off the mark here. :eh: And the Enquirer...a dirt scum mag won't keep it out of their papers...hate to tell u this...is not Mrs. Edwards trotting out her dirty laundry for money. I mean get a grip will ya?

Have you actually looked up what her book is actually about? It's not all about John..and it certainly isn't about that tramp he got caught with. It's not about only Johns affair and the supposed 'baby' that may or may not be the by product of that union. You might want to look up exactly what this is all about before casting this woman into mud holes and rolling around in a cheap suit.

Resilience...all about the challenges in our lives...and how specifically Elizabeth over came some fairly large challenges over the past years. Cancer, being a political wife, an affair in a 28 year marriage....that is the book. It's her life...her experience..let her tell it. Don't like it? Don't buy it and read it then. :eh:

Is she donating the proceeds to charity? Look, I am entitled to my opinion, as you are. However, I didn't attack you for your opinion. As I stated, I respected her before she chose to capitalize on her husband's seedy behavior at the expense of her children. If you don't like my opinion, don't read it then. Got it?

The NY Post published a stinging opinion piece about the situation.

Isn't it punishment enough being a politician's wife without having to put up with all the bulls**t too?

Even Jackie O had to put up with Jack's philandering and who's to say she didn't have a go at Ari before Jack's death?

I couldn't care less about the Edward's personal life, or their public life. I just don't care about them and wish they would slither away and never be seen in public life again.

Just shows money can't buy class. He is a PIG.

I have no idea what Mrs. Edwards is doing with the proceeds of her book..does it matter?

I didn't attack you. I Did rebut your opinion with one of my own. Like you, I have my opinion..which you obviously disagree with. That's cool...we don't have to agree.

BTW, don't dish it out if you can't take it in like and kind....got it? :naughty: Give as good as you get right? ;)

Jackie knew all about the Kennedy men before she married Jack. A lot of times the spouses will tolerate it as long as they are discreet
......meaning---as long as they don't get caught. Jackie at least handled herself with class. As far as Ari is concerned....I personally think she married him for the money and security, and didn't "have a go" at him until she absolutely had to. :) I mean, come on. He was a toad. I doubt this was the first affair that Edwards had, and I bet Elizabeth knew that. He got caught on this one, though. She knew it and tried to hide it like he did. Now she is out pimping the story for money. Sad, tacky and totally without class. I feel sorry for their children. I no longer have respect for her at all. I never had respect for him.
